Popular Post Niënor Posted January 5, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2018 Random: my family went to Orlando Florida for the holidays and we visited all of the Disney parks and a few other parks. I saw lots of people with Green Day tshirts. At least 10. I thought that was pretty awesome. 10 Quote

However, the Milton Keynes show is the only show that I can remember having these thoughts about. Although there's probably footage of other shows out there that I haven't seen that might give me this impression too (especially if it's footage from the AI era because I haven't seen many AI shows). Could it partly be the way BIAB is directed? It's very stylistic and has a cool/artistic vibe that shows a slightly different side to the band and Billie than a standard show recording does. 3 Quote

Yes, it's quite possible. Quote
Popular Post MillenniumFan Posted January 6, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 6, 2018 Someone’s probably already thought of this, but 2019 would be a great year for the start of another album-tour cycle, because we’d have: 1. 15 year anniversary of American Idiot (which will make me feel old AF!) 2. 10 year anniversary of 21st Century Breakdown (which will make me feel even more old AF!). 3. 25 year anniversary of Dookie So all in all a great year to celebrate all of these fantastic albums (even if it will make me feel terribly old lol)! I hope they somehow maybe even play special shows or setlists to account for that, but even if not, they could do other awesome stuff like release rare bonus material from the time, such as demos, B-sides, artwork designs, unreleased live footage etc! 5 1 Quote
Marki. Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 ^ 10 year anniversary of 21st CB, what that's crazy. I didn't think of that at all. 2 2 Quote
MillenniumFan Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 Yeah, I know! Though I've been a fan of the band since around AI, I didn't witness the full album-tour cycle (and of course I missed the build up before). That's different with 21CB, so it makes me feel so goddamn old when I think about it the fact that it'll be 10 years old very soon! 3 Quote
RedundantIdiot Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 A completely random GD thought- has anyone ever seen a photo of Jason Freese without a hat?! 2 1 Quote

pouty bitch Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I love the acoustic versions of Paper Lanterns and One For The Razorbacks live from WMMR in 1991. 2 Quote

MillenniumFan Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 @pacejunkie punk Ah, I see. Billie’s own ‘’hair colour wheel’’ simply broke last year and because he obviously forgot to get a warranty when he bought it, the wheel has remained broken to this day, stuck on black hair dye 4 Quote
Haushinka! Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Gotta love listening to SiriusXM and having Green Day on two stations at once. 2 1 Quote

Actually one of my earliest GD memories besides the Seinfeld finale was hearing Weird Al’s version of Basket Case in a video to a Lost parody. So yeah, I feel you. 1 hour ago, MillenniumFan said: @pacejunkie punk Ah, I see. AmyxLongview Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Is anyone else obsessed with Insomniac?! It was my least favorite album when I first became a fan (I was young and dumb) but now it's one of my faves. There are such great songs on it. 1 1 Quote

I love Insomniac but then when I first became a fan their punkiest sound was my favorite and I didn’t understand why people didn’t like that album. Want to talk about young and dumb? At the time my least favorite album was American Idiot! Until I heard it straight through and got that it was a concept album all I thought was why are these songs so damn long? 😂 1 1 Quote

It was my least favourite album when I first became a fan, and I didn't like any of the songs on it (I was a stupid kid too), but now it's my 2nd fave GD album and I love nearly every song on it. I am such an Insomniac fangirl. The first 6 seconds of Brat is one of my favourite things in the world. 1 Quote
Christian's Inferno! Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Yeah, Insomniac was definitely one of the hardest albums for me to get into, I think just behind 1,039 and Kerplunk. But now, I do really like it. Not as much as a lot of other GD albums but I'd say it's probably the 2nd best of their 90's albums, maybe 3rd. I'd still give it a solid 8/10. Panic Song is fantastic, Brain Stew is just a great song, Westbound Sign is catchy, Walking Contradiction is fun and has a great video. Stuck With Me is also cool. It's one of those albums which has a lot going on lyrically and I think if you look into the lyrics, it's great 2 Quote
jengd Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Just so many great songs on it, Geek Stink Breath, Panic Song, Stuart And The Avenue, brain Stew, Jaded and one of my all time favs, Bab’s Uvula Who. 2 Quote
