It seems reasonable to hire a plane for the SoAm tour. The distances they'll travel are big.

I remembered something cute the other day. I was super close to my grandpa because he pretty much raised me in place of my dad. I would have loved to share Green Day with him but he was a bit too old to really get it - his comments were things like "he needs to cut his hair", "I didn't buy that magazine, it only had the drummer in it" and I once asked him if he could write a poem (he was a published poet) similar to Song of the Century and he just gave me the lyrics back with notes about how they were grammatically incorrect  

But when I was 13 I drew up the album art from 21st Century Breakdown and wrote my interpretations of the songs/story on the back. He really took the time to read and comment on them and specifically said he loved Christian's Inferno and Last Night on Earth. My interpretation (then) was that in Christian's Inferno, Christian is in such a state of self-destruction that he ignores everything in his efforts to destroy himself and his life, even blaming some of it on Gloria. Then Last Night on Earth is his apology and reassurance that the one thing she should never second guess is his love for her, no matter how destructive he becomes.

I'd totally forgotten until I listened to it the other day that one of the things my grandpa really took in about Green Day was that interpretation, and how much he loved it. I guess it resonated with him somehow. Or not, maybe he was just glad he actually understood something I was saying about these stupid American men. Either way I'm glad I remembered it and I'm going to think of him every time I hear those songs now.

my favorite sticker era for Blue is from the nimrod days, but I dig the dookie and insomniac eras too, but I think the stickers went downhill after AI, I just googled some pics from then and it looks like a mess. I really hate the "Awesome in Disguise" sticker

So with the boys on the way to Brazil I was curious to see how long a flight it was from NorCal. 15 hours! Add the 4-5 hour time difference and it’s nearly round the clock travel. No wonder they need to start out 4 days before the show.
