Shtrudel Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 (edited) I just really love Letterbomb, such an excellent song, maybe the best of American Idiot! It used to be an underrated song in that album, but now I feel it got its place as a "mainstream" song, at least among GD fans, and I'm really glad it did. It is not my fave..but I read that Letterbomb is Billie fave song on AI and he always play it live no matter what.. Quote

Popular Post kkpojpojpj Posted August 8, 2017 Popular Post Posted August 8, 2017 Jesus of Suburbia is a great song, pretty much all Green Day fans can agree on that. Sometimes though it just feels like I truly understand and can appreciate what a fucking masterpiece it really is. Every time I listen to it recently I get chills. I love the fact that I've known and loved this song for 13 years, yet it still catches me by surprise with how amazing it is. God I love this band. 5 Quote

It is very long great song..and it is not my fave but if I would pick "Homecoming" for most longest and great song of G.D. Quote

And seeing it live for the first time was like an out of body experience. I just kept looking around watching everyone singing and waving their arms telling myself to drink it all in. 3 Quote
dori711 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 Totally random sht coming: I was wondering why do Tré and Mike call the stage 'office'... I don't remember Billie reffering to it as office, anyway. Probably it's part of their humour, but it sounds so funny... The other one is in my mind like forever. So in the song Holiday is the word outlaws, then twelve years later, a song with the same title comes out... Ordinary World is a similar one. Probably it's pure coincidence or there's a link between them, who knows. Wait, now I feel some Amercian Idiot era inspiration. Quote

I mean it's one thing to be like "look the car is indestructible" but it's not good promotion to have him say "fuck your Subaru" or whatever he said. Maybe they asked him to mention Subaru on stage and this was how he decided to handle it, haha. 2 Quote

They call it the office because it's their full time job, and a stereotypical full time job is in an office so it's just a little joke. I remember when the tracklist was posted here and people thought it was fake because of that very reason - that some of the titles were lyrics in other songs (Troubled Times and Outlaws in particular.) I can understand the office reference, I thought it's just a joke. Their "job" is much more interesting and adventurous than sitting in a room, fighting over airco and stuff... The song titles/lyrics thing: It's probably inspiration. I don't see anything into this, although it's somewhat remarkable. You just cannot erase all the lyrics and songs you wrote; they might pop up in different contexts later and still have influence on you. Language is beautiful after all. 1 Quote

I can attest to this And I agree. And we know Billie has an affinity for certain words that pop up all the time in his songwriting. 1 Quote
