He often has to bend his wrist sideways and hunch to play palm muted parts. His guitar is so low he can barely reach there. I've actually tried to hold my guitar the way he does and have no freakin' clue how he plays that way. Of course I can't palm mute the way he does either. 2 Quote

It's quite uncomfortable on the hand as well, I think I'd be in pain if I played like this for a long time. I'm convinced he uses magic to pull this off 2 Quote

PurpleIron1039 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Speaking of 21st Century Breakdown (which is IMO a STELLAR record), I want some songs like American Eulogy, Restless Heart Syndrome, East Jesus Nowhere, and Horseshoes and Handgrenades on the new album. 4 Quote

PurpleIron1039 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I just thought of something. Has Billie ever stated that he took the title of the song (Static Age) from the Misfits album? It seems likely. 2 Quote
GenXIdiot Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I'm sure this is old news, but you can sing the chorus of Static Age at the same time as the chorus to Church on Sunday. My youngest aspiring singer son likes to demonstrate, every time I play either song. 4 Quote
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I never really got the static age love Quote
Hermione Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I always wanted Church On Sunday to go up a key during the repeated choruses at the end, because it would've been funny. And then they made my wish come true by doing exactly that with a song that sounds like it. Actually my favourite thing about Static Age . The surprise sax solo when they play it live is pretty cool too. 4 Quote

One could guess he's not saying "be cool" before a drum fill and a close-up on tre. lol 2 Quote

UNICORN VOMIT Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Does anyone know how long GD's instagrams have been taken down from the official page - they are never up to date but I can't see them on the home page at the moment..... Quote
RedundantIdiot Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I love to listen to When it's Time. They should play it live again. 3 Quote

It was one of the highlights of the musical, really quite emotional. The recordings can't quite capture the feeling that came across in that performance. 1 Quote

Popular Post PurpleIron1039 Posted June 19, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2016 (edited) I sometimes feel as if people are really, really surprised when they find out that my favorite band is Green Day. My favorite genre is heavy metal, followed closely by thrash metal, and the remainder of my "favorite bands" list is comprised of groups like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Queensrÿche, Slayer, Death, Exodus, Testament, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Venom, and other groups that are not at all similar to GD in sound or image. I also tend to lean conservative on most issues, whereas Green Day's members are staunchly liberal. I sometimes don't even understand why I love them so much myself. I think that that might be indicative of Green Day's ability to appeal to people from all walks of life, though. They have fans from all backgrounds, which I think is fairly rare for rock musicians.
