The Great Saiyaman Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 Kerplunk is a fantastic and hugely underrated album. "Android" would make for a perfect energetic live song. I'm surprised they didn't play it as the Sweet Children at House of Blues. 3 Quote

Guest Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 "Android" would make for a perfect energetic live song. I'm surprised they didn't play it as the Sweet Children at House of Blues. Because it's a Green Day song, not a Sweet Children song. Quote

loveblondiebilliejoe Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I have to admit, the Trilogy songs are not great, but I've been listening to Missing You a lot lately and I've come to actually really like that song Quote

That song is definitely one of my top 5 from the trilogy, and possibly in the top 10 of my all-time favorite Green Day songs. 2 Quote
loveblondiebilliejoe Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 I agree with you 100% percent. I love both versions but I think I might like the Demolicious version better. The Demolicious version is absolutely wonderful. That song is definitely one of my top 5 from the trilogy, and possibly in the top 10 of my all-time favorite Green Day songs. Quote
Spike Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Yeah, Missing You is A+++, and none of the criticisms anyone has had of the lyrics make any sense. The Demolicious version edges the album version because of the guitar tone and slightly different bassline, but the version on Tre is still one of their best songs in itself. 2 Quote

I also like how on the demo version instead of just "It gets so hard when I'm missing you", he's all like "It gets so....hard ;) when I'm missing you", lol. 4 Quote

Libertine Angel Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Missing You is one of the best Trilogy songs, definitely (and always better on Demolicious), but I wouldn't put it as one of their best overall, I don't think. Quote

Libertine Angel Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Actually. Unless they read it on the toilet, then I suppose it's alright. 1 Quote
UnoDosLuke_xx Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Obviously they've got better and all, but in this context - would you consider Sweet Children a separate band than Green Day? Just like how Emily's Army and Swimmers aren't different bands, y'know? Quote

Hermione Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 They never released any songs as Sweet Children (and only even recorded 4 when they had that name - they changed to Green Day at the last minute before releasing their first EP 1000 Hours), so no. Was really cool that they called themselves that at the House of Blues show though, to signify another era of the band. Quote
