peppermint butler Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Answer the question!! Call me crazy but a green day/foo fighters thing would be cool. Imagine 5 guitarists at the same time. Awesome.

Well we've already had two drummers, two bassists, two lead singers and too many guitarists with the U2 collab I'll say Biffy Clyro, just so Ceadog's inevitable post is unoriginal. Really though, Eminem.

Foo Fighters would be a disaster. Once you reach 3 guitarists everything after that becomes pointless. Neither bands are talented enough to do anything that utilises 5 guitarists anyway. Jon Herroon Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Psy. We all know how much Billie loves him.

There are at least 7 guitars in Restless Heart Syndrome, probably more. *listens to FLAC version* /your argument But yeah. It wouldn't work, Foo Fighters are too generic, it'd just lead to a Green Day song but even more over-compressed.

And have dave grohl? (Actually a lot have dave)
Todd Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 My Chemica-- Oh. Ah, the day I stop listening to Green Day. Nice to know that will never happen Rancid. Fucking Green Day/Rancid. They were gonna do something before 21CB, but it never happened
Spike Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 The foos arn't generic. They're awesome. How many bands still use analog? And have dave grohl? (Actually a lot have dave) Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a fan of theirs. But how would you define their sound, beyond 'rock'? As far as I can see it can't be done. And any band could use analog if they wanted, that's kind of irrelevant. There's no such thing as analog superiority, just a wealth of producers who aren't as good at mixing digitally as they should be. Dave's just a musician, not a style of music unto himself. So yeah, none of what you've said stands up as an argument for them not being generic
