maurokanvaz Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I was on Spotify today and found this weird album called: I Am Starting Over by Ryan Michalski. Apparently, some songs feature Green Day, Weezer, and the Foo Fighters. It really sounds different than their sound but I don't know if it is legit.

maurokanvaz Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Don't sound like Green Day at all to me.
Todd Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yeah, wtf is this. You Wish sounds pretty good though.
Before The Lobotomy Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 he already posted the album back 2011
Spike Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Yeah, complete and utter fabrication. The uploader sets what's in the tags, it being on iTunes doesn't make it legit. The guy's clearly a fantasist.
Flyingdonutz Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 It could be that he's taken the melodies from Green Day and Foo Fighter songs and wanted to give them credit.

Green Day would've advertised something like that, not to make money for themselves, but to promote this small artist. So this is fake. Weezer and the Foo Fighters didn't say anything about it either. So it's gotta be fake

Actually this is not true. You submit the album and all the legal stuff, personnel, and the date you want it to be released and that's it. You receive a submission email and then it goes on iTunes. Simple. He didn't even say it was like YouTube, only that you can put most likely anything on there

It goes on spotify, Xbox store, iTunes in every region, rhapsody and like 10 other stores for $30ish for an album for a year, they also have services to take care of royalties it you have covers. They don't take any money out of your sales, but apple still takes a percentage.
Heather. Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Shouldn't there be legal reasons that this dude is NOT allowed to put Green Day, FF, and Weezer's names on his work? That's more of what concerns me. It's like false advertising.

Also we have a "Musician's Lounge" for people to post their own music, if you want to post yours you should make a thread for it in Share Your Work
