Your thoughts on Foreverly

I haven't seen a thread for people's feedback regarding Foreverly, if there already is one then sorry.

So, now it's been available for streaming for a couple of days, what do y'all make of it?

I was surprised by how good it is. Never been a Norah fan and I don't really care for the Everly Brothers, just not my kind of thing. But this album is fantastic. It's great to hear Billie doing something so different, it really showcases just how good a singer he is. For the most part it seems to me like he's singing lead for the majority of the album, Norah seems to be doing the harmonies even though it's meant to be a split lead vocal. I absolutely love Lightning Express. I listened to the whole album on the tube this morning and it made what is usually a very stressful journey so relaxing. I love how the drums and bass aren't intrusive, the arrangements are fantastic and the recording vibe is just perfect.

But I know a lot of you will hate it because Billie's daring to do something so un-punk. So...

Not my cup of tea, but it's cool Billie can branch out and do other genres of music. Not all musicians can do that well.

I've come to the conclusion that Billie singing isn't enough to pull me towards that genre.

I can understand that. It certainly won't get me into it either, my interest begins and ends with this album. I probably wouldn't be so interested if I didn't love his voice so much.

Billie's voice sells it for me, but I love it. It is super relaxing, somehow. Even though a lot of the songs are pretty dark.

I'd like it better if Norah wasn't in it

I found the only parts I liked was hers :P I don't want to relate Billie to country, it's too far off

Only listened to the first song they released. Waiting for the full album to actually come out before i listen to it. But to me it just shows how dynamic a singer Billie Joe really is. Truely there aren't many singers that have ever existed that can go to so many places he can while still being such a relevant rock star to the pop scene. Like really, I can't even come up with someone that has done as much as he has. Sounds far-fetched but he's just so dynamic its insane. Can't wait to listen to the whole thing.

I love it. It's different and refreshing. I enjoy listening to it while editing photos or drawing.

I love it. The Everly Brothers are awesome, so this is pretty fucking sweet.

Too depressed to sleep... that is how this album feels.

Quick! Find something upbeat and happy!

Of course it's completely different, but it has a super relaxing vibe to it in my opinion. And I can't help it but his voice.

I think Billies voice just does not fit to this kind of music. His voice is too high and has no power. Not my thing.

I love that they have given a dark vibe to these songs. The lyrics are dark as well. I like their arrangements in songs like Lightning Express, Barbara Allen, Down in the Willow Garden and Put My Little Shoes Away. Actually, I love all the songs and I am very happy that this album exists because it gave me the opportunity to hear great songs that I didn't know before.

I love how well they harmonize together. The majority of the album is too dark and depressing for me. I nearly lost it when I heard the song about the boy on the train (I'm sorry, I don't recall the title of the song). On the plus side, I really do like Long Time Gone.

Where's it streaming?

some of the songs are very good. I think the most interesting thing about this record is that it shows how good of a singer billie is

I love it. Been listening to nothing but Foreverly for the past few days. I thought it'd be an upbeat country kind of thing,.. but the darkness was surprising!

I love this cd best album of 2013 imo I can relate to the darkness of the album

I think that's what helps! Dark country can be great, if Johnny Cash is anything to go by. Upbeat country is ridiculous, unless Tre is singing it :P

Same. She's a cool girl and all (and she's fucking gorgeous) but I wish there were more solo parts so I can hear Billie more.

that's why Barbara Allen is my favourite

I got an email from Amazon saying the CD is shipped! Hopefully I'll get it before Thursday.

I've heard several of the songs now. I really dig Norah's voice. The harmonies are great, however part of me feels that Billie's voice is not good with these songs. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I think his voice may be too nasally and higher for these kind of songs. I want a smooth low voice with these songs. Norah's voice is easy like Sunday morning, but Billie's is not. And I don't think it ever will be. Which is fine. But I think in some parts of the songs his voice disrupts the low, slow, easy vibe of these songs.

I dunno I'll have more of an opinion once my CD arrives and I can listen to it more
