michidookie Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi guys... I'm trying to get my friends into green day.. I really hoped to do a band one day.. because I know a lot of guitarists.. But now I notice that it's impossible, because after 20 years old, people think to know what real music is.. So if you are 23.. you can play only MUSE, HENDRIX, PINK FLOYD.. Everyone's playing the same thing.. I think we are in a sad homologation period.. I still haven't found a band that likes punk.. They invite me to change the music I listen.. To try pink floyd.. xD How can I find a solution!? This is a screen I made to protest against the Pink Floyd homologation of my friends (i like pink floyd btw)..
Guest Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 People don't all listen to/like the same music, get over it. Seriously, they could be listening to much worse than Pink Floyd.
Spike Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 People like different music. Oh noez I know, let's all be identical and have the human race be entirely homogenised when it comes to art, wouldn't that be exciting any interesting? Have you considered that the bands you listed are actually incredibly diverse musically? And that you wanting people to listen to Green Day is only the same as them wanting you to listen to Pink Floyd? Also, I'm 22 and I love Green Day, that's not going to change anytime soon. But Muse and Pink Floyd are also amongst my favourite bands. Try not to generalise. Seriously. Pink Floyd are fucking incredible. I wouldn't expect a die hard fan to be into a band like Green Day.
Amanda Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Stop worrying about what other people listen to, it really doesn't matter.
Todd Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 None of my friends like Green Day. They call Green Day a bunch of ugly faggots. That's why I just tell everyone my favorite band is the Foxboro Hot Tubs and then no one judges me cause they don't know who that is.
Amanda Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Seriously. Pink Floyd are fucking incredible. I wouldn't expect a die hard fan to be into a band like Green Day.I've got amazing powers of observation.
Guest Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Seriously. Pink Floyd are fucking incredible. I wouldn't expect a die hard fan to be into a band like Green Day. Haaaaaaaaaaaave you met Ben?
Idlewild. Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 It's okay if I try to force you to listen to the bands I like but if you try to do the same to me it must mean you hate Green Day and if you hate Green Day fuck you and your fat wife you don't know real music lelzx
Anaïs. Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Pink Floyd is a seriously amazing band, man. Don't complain that they don't like Green Day—rejoice that they don't like Nicki Minaj.
Guest Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 oOoOoOo people listen to pink floyd and not green day noooooo!!!!! r u fucking kidding me. green day r complete shite compared to pink floyd and u just have to get over the fact that people like different better shit.
Overjoyyed Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't know anyone who is a pink Floyd fan so there. I don't have a friend that likes Green Day either. At least your friends like rock/alternative music. None of my friends are huge music fans- other than one who likes eminem, and that dj mouse guy.. So I don't really speak to them about music other than a mention of going to concerts, about my guitar lessons, etc and those are just passing facts of what I did that day or answers to "what's up". I don't really care much 95% of the time. That's the whole reason I joined this community. 5% of the time is just me being a bit sad that I usually go to concerts alone/ don't have friends or family to talk about something that I hold so important in my life. But yeah that's nothing. If I want to fan girl about green day or really any other band I come here and feel welcomed
Trotsky Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Is that Svan? Hey, if any man on this forum could get some...
Trotsky Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 My friend listens to post-hardcore, mathcore, and synthpop screamo but won't give Deadlock a try because they're dark metalcore. We all have problems.
klytaemnestra Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 oh my god this is such a non-problem i fucking hate this website
Guest Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 This is not a spam thread. People treating it like one will be warned.
Malleus Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 This is the silliest fucking thread ever but it's probably the best thing ever that because his friends do not like Green Day he thinks we are in a "homologation period" hahahahaha.
Iain Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Hi guys... I'm trying to get my friends into green day.. I really hoped to do a band one day.. because I know a lot of guitarists.. Big wow, your friends don't like Green Day, as does everyone else in respect of their opinion, subjectively. I find it ironic how you claim that 'after 20 years old, people think to know what real music is', while that is exactly what you are trying to do. I don't know what this 'sad homologation' is, and frankly, I don't know why Pink Floyd is such a big deal in this conversation. I highly doubt Pink Floyd is a higher authority to allow something to be classed as music, let alone your friends. What your friends are doing to you is stupid as well, but that's their subjective interest in music while you have your own, you all should just deal with it. If your friends can't accept your music taste let alone you accepting theirs, then it's a very small spec of dust on the great large window pane of life, and you should either get new friends or do other things with your friends avoiding the subject. It's what I do. We usually end up drunk. oh my god this is such a non-problem i fucking hate this website ...sometimes I wonder who we have guarding our door, hypothetically.
Trotsky Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 This is not a spam thread. People treating it like one will be warned. And why is it still open exactly?
Guest Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 And why is it still open exactly? Because someone asked a legitimate question. Is it the smartest question ever? No, and the thread may yet fall to the "too stupid to live" rule, but it gets a chance.
Iain Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Because someone asked a legitimate question. Is it the smartest question ever? No, and the thread may yet fall to the "too stupid to live" rule, but it gets a chance. Wait, there's a too stupid to live rule?
