Trilogy-inspired video series

Wasn't sure whether to make a thread for these or not but what the hell. :P Thought I might as well share them to a wider audience than my art thread.

For the video project I just did at college, I made a short series of trilogy-inspired videos. Billie once described the trilogy (metaphorically) as "before the party", "the party from hell" and "the morning after". The videos are intended to mirror those themes while all still having a short narrative of their own. It's up to you how to interpret them, but after a short blurb I've put the stories I intended in a spoiler.

¡UNO! - Angel Blue

This video shows the song from the (hypothetical) girl's point of view - being the "other woman" to a famous man, receiving the song and watching the chaos unfold.

When the song begins, the girl rejects the narrator and causes him a lot of pain and frustration, but as time passes she develops feeling for him. Her different expressions throughout the video represent the many emotions she must be feeling - anger, despair, confusion, apathy and maybe a bit of arrogance. The blood on her hands the second time he asks her to be his "bloody valentine" implies that he eventually gets what he wants, and the handcuffs she's wearing then represent being trapped by an ugly mess of fame and love.

¡DOS! - See You Tonight

"Angel Blue" gives in to temptation and goes out to meet the narrator from her song.

Her overdressed appearance represents how she's unwittingly taking everything out with her, and the ominious feeling hints at how destructive this could become.

¡TRE! - X-Kid

The two characters are together now, but faced with cold reality.

The couple are past their "party from hell" (not a literal party, but the impulsive phase of their relationship where they threw everything away, made mistakes, etc) and are faced with reality. The man has even been diagnosed with schizophrenia, and attempted suicide multiple times. We know from Angel Blue that he's famous, making it all so much worse since the world follows his every move. Eventually the girl reaches breaking point and leaves. It seems that the man has killed himself...

...but it turns out to be a happy ending where he chooses to go after her over suicide, and that reminds her that he's still the man she fell in love with. She goes back home with him. Yay!

In case it's not obvious, these are all entirely personal takes on a fictional scenario. Just ideas I found interesting that were inspired by Green Day songs.

Enjoy and feel free to share any thoughts! I'm a photographer so film is quite new to me, but these were really fun to make.
