JIGD13 Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Well, 2 months ago I heard in a radio their promo where they showed a lot of the songs that they air, and in the end I heard a piece of Brutal Love, I wasn't surprised because they only showed like 3 seconds, but today I was in the car and the same radio aired the 5 minutes of Brutal Love. I don't know if it's just a movement of Warner Music here in Ecuador, but I was very surprised because they have never even aired X-Kid that was a single.
Tubbie Head Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Oh so cool that you heard it on the radio! It's weird though But maybe that's something that's exclusive to that one radio station?
The Grohl Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 It would be a better single than "The Forgotten" i think
Guest Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I'd be a far better single than Oh Love! I'm sure anyone would be.
Spike Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I'm sure anyone would be. True. Like A Rat Does Cheese, maybe?
Idiotic Tendency... Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 It's too much of a ripoff to be on radio. The guy who originally wrote the riff was even credited
HolyHandGrenade Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 True. Like A Rat Does Cheese, maybe? I think you missed his joke. Regardless, I think any airplay for GD is a positive.

Todd Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Hey, I like Oh Love. It wasn't the best single, or music video, but it's a great song
Guest Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I'm surprised to see Brutal Love get some airplay, but yeah, it should never be a single. Too slow and meandering, no real hook to it. It needs the context of the album.
Todd Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 99 Revolutions should be a single, it's all they fucking talked about summer of 2012, and it's catchy enough
Dalya Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Missing you could be a great single. Lazy Bones is still in the game, so I am really surprised it's not a single yet.
UNICORN VOMIT Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Does anything from trilogy get airtime in the States ??
WhiteTim Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Yall just ain't never happy with the singles jeez lol
Beatlesdude Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I think that the Forgotten should be a single. It was the first dance at my wedding
bjafan129 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Does anything from trilogy get airtime in the States ?? I've heard Oh Love, Kill the DJ, X-Kid, Stray Heart, Let Yourself Go, and a snippet of Amy when they were talking about Amy Winehouse. They said that Green Day made an amazing tribute song to her and played the "Amy don't you go" part of the song. Other than that nothing else. The station I listen to plays about 2-3 Green Day songs a day. Most from American Idiot or Dookie, plus the occasional Brain Stew and 21 Guns.
Ham Pascale Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 No. Nonononononononononononononononononononononononononononono. NO!

Yes same as my station in Australia but nothing from the trilogy since rehab.
Cruise Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Yes same as my station in Australia but nothing from the trilogy since rehab. Wow we only had Oh Love played once here, and I listen to the radio quite a bit. We rarely get any Green Day even though the presenters are big Green Day fans and you can tell that by the way they react when they are about to play a song.

Here is brisbane they were so excited for the trilogy & I heard oh love & kill the dj nearly everyday but that was before rehab.
gerardsangel4977 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 A song doesn't have to be a single to get airplay. It depends on the format of the station/program you're listening to.
Jon Benjamin Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 At my work I've heard Whatsername, Oh Love, and 21st CBD as some lesser played and I heard The Forgotten on a random Indianapolis station.
Slave To The Network Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I have not heard any of Green Day's trilogy songs on the radio at all where I am. Not even once!
