Should Green Day do a Through the Never type of movie?

As we all know at least by now, Metallica have joined the ranks of the Beatles, Led Zepplin and many other to make a movie with music. It made me think a little bit, should Green Day do something like this? Obviously they have a play which is close to the real thing but not exactly there. I think they could do it, but how would they do it?

Most of you will say something like they would have to do it through a themed album like AI or 21st, I disagree. I think they should do what Metallica did. They should have a light story that is supposed to be their history but have it buried. For example, their is a kid trying to who moved out of his house an their is a fear of living alone (Welcome to Paradise). But he find solice or comfort in a girl that he met in another state or town (2000 Light Years Away).

It would honestly be interesting and cool to see happen. So what do you think? Would you like to see a movie like this or do you think it is something they shouldn't do?

Don't make a list but if you do I won't complain. lol

They shouldn't. They made cuatro, Broadway Idiot... and I think it's just all for the money...

I don't think Broadway Idiot was. But Quatro didn't really have to happen.

Yeah, I think Broadway Idiot deals with a quite interesting subject but Cuatro is pretty unnecessary... and I think "Through the never" is pretty commercial too...

cuatro was intended for the box set owners at first.

It was for the fans, but I see where your coming from. Although when is the last time Metallica was big in the news? I agree with you statement in way.

They should probably start making good music again before they make a movie.

I'd rather have the American idiot movie be something completely original, and nothing like TTN, make of that what you will.

I think I would definitely enjoy something like that! :)

You say that like there are many GD movies out there :P

The guys themselves don't have to be very involved in something like that I think. It's just something fun that can be done with their music, and why not?

Not saying that they'll ever do it but it's certainly not a bad thing, or something that would take time out or prevent them from writing new music (at least that's what I think).

Hell, no. The only idea just suck.

Doing another BIAB is a better idea.

No. I feel like Metallica is so desperate to be back on top that they thought this movie was a good idea and the way to do it. I will be happy with another Green Day live DVD.

Metallica wasn't anywhere but on top. I don't remember three albums tanking, I remember there last 5 going number 1. Just something to think about.

That may be true, but I wasn't really looking at numbers. I was more looking at them as a whole. They're not as popular or even that respected in the metal community as they once were.
