It's been about a year now that Billie's been to rehab and sober since then, I think that we should all compile a Congrats/Appreciation post for Billie to see how proud we are of him!

Someone on Instagram made a post about this about a month ago that September will be the one year mark and made a hashtag, but I forgot what it was. If any remember let me know.
I don't know the exact date that Billie got out of rehab, but it seems to have been around the 23rd-26th of September that it was being talked about online.

Either way, I'd like to make this an Event of sorts to show Billie our support!

We're proud of you, Billie! :)

I've gone 21 years without heroin, can I have an appreciation day?

Also, he hasn't drank since iHeart, so this thing should be whenever the 1 year anniversary of that is.

I'm glad he got help and I'm glad that he seems to be staying sober (from what we can see, anyway).

The new iHeart show was last night. Might not be the same date as last year but it's usually around the same time (or at least the same Friday of the same weekend). So pretty close if not the exact date.

How do we know he's sober?

Yeah he got out of rehab but does that mean he hasn't drunk for a year?

Good on him if he hasn't but...

That's awesome!

A sober Billie is > intoxicated Billie because sooner or later, he's going to be at the iHeart Radio with Blue.

the thought of that makes my soul cry

The iHeartRadio show was one year ago today. (2012-09-21)

Because he knows better than to have another drink. He now fully knows the effects of his addiction on his family, friends, and career.

I remember him saying in the RS interview that he doesn't drink anymore. Hopefully he's still not drinking.

So what? He's an addict. Addicts know all these things yet still continue.

We have absolutely no idea if he's still sober. For all we know, right this second he could be throwing back shots and doing lines of coke off Tré's spare drum kit.

So?

I always get a little wary of threads like this. We don't know the guy so I don't think we should put on a pedestal/talk about things we have really no idea about. I mean we don't even really know what he went to rehab for, whether it was booze/pills or both.

Yes, it's a possibility, but I really believe that he'll stay sober for a long time.

It was both, he said it in Rolling Stone.

Your choice, but the last person you should trust is an addict.

i'm just gunna throw it out there, i have a whole lotta faith in our man, i genuinely believe he has learnt from his mistakes & has stayed off the drink & pills. he was close to losing everything, i know addicts are just that, addicts but yeah, i really believe that Billie has sorted himself out.

I can't help trusting him. Billie is my absolute favorite person that I've never met.

Exactly.

I think this comes under the heading of something that isn't my business. It's his personal life, if his family and friends want to congratulate him for something personal then that's their place but I don't think it's ours. We don't know him, we don't know if he wants to "celebrate" this, and we don't know any of the ins and outs of what's happened in the last year. Leave it to Billie and the people who know him.

It's not whether he has or he hasn't that I'm trying to get out. It's just that we don't know, it's his health and private life and by celebrating something that we're guessing about it, it seems really intrusive and odd to me.

We had the same thought.
