I´m new in this community and my english isn´t very good (I´m from germany), but i still hope you can help me.

I want my first tattoo (on my under-arm) in a few weeks with a green day quote, but first i want the real explanation/translation from this.

The quote is from the song "waiting" and is called "Better thank your lucky stars".

Could someone of you explain me this sentence? I googled a lot, but i found nothing good. One person said it means "consider yourself lucky", is that right?

Same. I might of come off like a dick but tattoos are supposed to mean something. If you just want a Green Day tattoo get like a logo, the kerplunk girl, the cartoon mike face, the heartshaped hand grenade, some X's or the rage and love skulls.

Tattoos are not supposed to mean something, it's entirely up to the person why they get a tattoo, whether it's meaning or because they think it's pretty. Just like it's up to someone what they want it to look like, a lyric or artwork. Neither is better than the other.
