Cruise
Wait... what did Billie say at leeds? He said it would be the last time they perform for a very long time.
Jimmy Strummer
He said it would be the last time they perform for a very long time. But you shouldn't take Billie completely at his word; I'm sure they'll be back pretty soon. Maybe not in the next few years, but trust me, they're not going away for very long. I mean, look at the last major rock star who said something like that at a concert: Dave Grohl. He said on stage at Pinkpop that the Foo Fighters would be taking some long-ass break, but then came his Sound City movie which the band eventually became involved with, and news broke recently that they're already working on a new record/project. The Foos aren't a band who like to slow down, and neither is Green Day. They both thrive on a strong, constant work ethic. Sure, they'll take a couple years off, slow down just a little bit, but Billie has too many songs in his head to stay away from the studio or the stage for very long. With that said, if they do tour next year, I really don't care what theme they choose, although I would prefer either a Dookie tour or a Pop Disaster 2.0 than an AI tour. HolyHandGrenade
I approve of this just so I can hear Homecoming, TMTS, and Shoplifter live.
eastlaranowhere
i remember reading late last year that they wanted to give australian audiences something special this time round. but with those recent interviews mike has done it doesn't seem like they're sure on playing dookie again. considering they have a 2.5 hour set, it will be very interesting to see what they play if it doesn't include dookie or ai. Yea a lot of people have been reading a lot into it. I never have as before he said it they had already announced Australian dates, which I am extremely excited about as I finally get to see them. He just meant they don't have any planed concerts for awhile, meaning 6 months which is a long time by Green Day standards, but its a good thing. She is Amanda
I can't really imagine anything. Honestly I understand why people think 2014 will be "the year" with dookie turning 20 and AI turning 10, being someone who is also obsessed with dates. But I doubt it. I think it's too much to hope for.
Overjoyyed
It's hard to see what's up in the world of Green Day anymore. I feel we are in an uncertain time in Green Day land. Like anything could happen or not happen or we could go years without hearing much news at all or we could see an anniversary tour. Sure I wish I would live to see Dookie or American Idiot played in full but I wouldn't hold my breath but I am still dreaming and hoping- it is a possibility. But what do you think the guys would feel about it? Like actually just reverting to their known music? Like a washed up band who can't make any relevant music? Or maybe they would have fun visiting memory lane? I don't know but I have a feeling it will probably be bitter-sweet at best. A huge No to the Pop Disaster tour. I do like Blink 182 but lets be honest they suck live.
Pineapple
I'd be happy with anything new from them next year but mostly a proper tour of Australia

Guest
You understand the feeling of them being gone from the area. We haven't had them here since 2009. And most likely wont get them again after February for 4 or 5 years again. so i can't be upset over not seeing them for a while just because you haven't seen them for longer ok yep totally makes sense. Cruise
so i can't be upset over not seeing them for a while just because you haven't seen them for longer ok yep totally makes sense. That's not what I meant. I don't even think I know what I meant. Now that I look at what I said it looks horrible. Its not even what I thought I said. It is missing words I thought of but they never made it to text (I was using my phone at the time which was being a major shit by constantly closing the keyboard every two letters, so it was taking me ages and I couldn't see my own text). So just ignore that post, sorry for the misunderstanding there. I will redo that post. This is what it should of said. Yea I understand the feeling of them being gone from the area. We haven't had them here since 2009. And most likely wont get them again after February for 4 or 5 years again and yea it sucks.
Jollyroger118
hopefully, i just can't see it myself. i'd love it for sure but after the tragedy that was the Trilogy, i dunno how they'll fix that. they lost a lot of fans over it.. then again they came back stronger than ever with AI so who knows. second leg feels unlikely right now, after Billies speech at Leeds. I think that's pretty dramatic lol I mean they hit a bump with the trilogy but those are like the one (well three) mediocre albums of their whole career. And I don't see anybody listening to the trilogy and saying "I swear off this band forever" ! It didn't have much promotion and even then the albums are still kind of weak but as soon as they put out quality music they'll be back in their rightful place. But what did Billie say at Leeds? Otis Big
Next album. A new concept album with a more punk lo-fi sound. Either two discs or two CDs. Calling it.

Westside Highway
I doubt there will be an AI/Dookie tour. Or at least them together or AI. It's possible that they could go on like a mini tour or just play some fests and just play dookie front to back...or back to front. But either way I'd rather them work on new music. Considering Sky Blue Sky by Wilco, post rehab music could be cool.
PleasedToMeetMe
Doesnt matter if they tour. I would just like to see a 20th anniversary edition of Dookie with bonus tracks like the demos and the pre-Dookie days documentary they've been talking about, and maybe a 10th anniversary edition of American Idiot with the AI era b-sides, Heart Like a Hand Grenade and the AI music videos. That would be perfect.
drugstore hooligan
that'd be awesome, sure, but tbh i can't see them going for another 10 years. hate the thought of it but now is their chance to have a massive blow-out for AI. plus i kinda really just want them to come back to the UK. I believe the guys will still be going in 10 years. Lets say if Warner dropped them they could still put out as much music as they like through Adeline Records or whatever. Dont Count them out yet. drugstore hooligan
Warner owns Adeline lol That i did not know doh!!. Im sure some label out there would surely pick the band up though if it ever came to that. The band will be putting out music for a good while yet. As for the American idiot Anniversary tour i doubt that is going to happen.
Clockwise
Warner owns Adeline lol I don't foresee Warner ever dropping Green Day, but if they parted ways and did operate on a smaller level, I don't think Adeline would be an impossible option, if only it just being the name and they run their own distribution, etc.

Oxymore
I don't think this is gonna happen. Don't think they want to plan big tours again, remember how huge were these tours, it's exhausting and BJ said that they didn't want to get overwhelmed... But maybe they will play the entire album during their future gigs sometimes, like they did during the 99 rev tour... Don't think they want to undertake big stuff, just do things simply...
