What do you guys think the chances of Green Day touring for the 10th anniversary of AI and the 20th of Dookie next year?

There've been some rumors that Green Day and blink might be touring for like a second Pop Disaster Tour which would be awesome. Idk if theres any truth to that though, at least nothing confirmed, but Mike has been commenting on Tom Delonge's Instagram posts alot

A second Pop Disaster Tour would be, well, a disaster, much like the first.

Dunno why everyones so hung up on 10 years of AI. They did fuck all for 10 years of Dookie.

probably because both anniversaries line up perfectly. and because AI was a huge success and a massive turn-around in their career. they went from quitting to being one of the biggest bands of that time with that album. plus, it's a fandom favourite.

only rumors;

it's quite probable that the annyversary tour might happen (consideredv that they'lkl play all dookie recently and they can rehersse AI and played live again, aklso both aslbums ar far more popular to the average public than the trilogy);

But I think that Pop Disaster 2.0 with Blink-182 was just pure fantasy;

I like better if AVA opened for them like they did last year

Seems a bit much for me. I'm not fussed about an AI tour. I'd rather they still be making music in 10 years, and then do it.

that'd be awesome, sure, but tbh i can't see them going for another 10 years. hate the thought of it but now is their chance to have a massive blow-out for AI.

plus i kinda really just want them to come back to the UK.

As long as they don't fuck up the next album completely, they'll still be around in 10 years. Plus they could do a reunion tour or whatever.

They'll come back to the UK anyway, second leg and shit.

hopefully, i just can't see it myself. i'd love it for sure but after the tragedy that was the Trilogy, i dunno how they'll fix that. they lost a lot of fans over it.. then again they came back stronger than ever with AI so who knows.

second leg feels unlikely right now, after Billies speech at Leeds. :cry:

I wouldn't say they lost a lot of fans, they just didn't attract the casual fans they usually have. I can't see them doing anything more than Nimrod levels of popularity on the next album, which is fine by me. One big song is enough to remind everyone that they still exist.

Never take Billie seriously, he talks so much bullshit :P

Okay this is a complete guess

Another album

They'll do another tour like in 91 all small clubs they'll play my hometown

And ill open for them with a karoke machine

And they'll play both AI and Dookie back to front

What I can dream can't I?

I'd love an AI tour...I was a bit too young to be into concerts back in 04/05 so it'd be awesome to see some of the non single tracks live. Plus the album's one of my favourites so to see it live in its entirety would be amazing :happy: I'm excited for whatever they choose to do :)

The trilogy what only bad because it had a lack of any advertisement so the only people who knew about it were the really big fans. Hardly anyone else knew about the album, so it didn't really have a chance at being a massive success or even successful by their standards.

Also all this fuss about Billies comment at leeds is just stupid. All it meant was that they wouldn't be having any shows for awhile. AKA meaning they are having time of to relax, Billie doesn't want to overwork himself. This will be until they hit Australian shores in February. It means nothing more then that. Some people are over analysing it, seriously.

yeah uhm I love the trilogy and have said countless times that the oly reason it didn't get big was due to advertising.

also, I'm the biggest advocate of them taking time off, billie needs to take things slowly, doesn't mean I can't be upset as ill miss them like fuck.

I think a Dookie tour will happen but I doubt an AI one will. Purely because they gained a massive fan base with American Idiot and that tour, along with the 21CB tour, was absolutely massive and lengthy, it still seems relatively recently and a LOT of people have had the chance to see a lot of American Idiot songs live. A Dookie tour would be the chance for the newer generation of fans to experience those songs live.

But I already have so on a personal level I really couldn't care less, I'll go see them whatever :P

Also, in response to those saying they didn't do anything for 10 years of Dookie - of course they fucking didn't, they were kind of busy with a little thing called American Idiot.

Yea I understand the feeling of them being gone from the area. We haven't had them here since 2009. And most likely wont get them again after February for 4 or 5 years again and yea it sucks.

A Dookie & American Idiot tour would obviously be heavenly, but I doubt it...

If they were going to do a 20th anniversary tour for Dookie then I don't think they would have performed it several times a year early. At first I suspected that they may be performing Dookie this year so they can perform AI next year - but I think the beauty of Dookie is that it's a shorter album (time-wise) and can be fit into a GD set without taking over the entire gig.
