They should do a studio version for an actual album. I think they should be extend it, and add another verse / guitar solo

You do realise that it's a Misfits cover right? You don't just make up an extra verse for cover. That's really not how it works...

You can if you want to. Also I love the misfits.

I'm sure you can if you want to, but why would you? Seriously, what's the point? The song is the song, it doesn't need anything more to it.

Also one does not simply play a solo on a Misfits song. Same deal as the Ramones.

Good points. Also I just want to get the green day cover version cause i love it. How do I get it on my ipod

When Kirsty MacColl covered A New England by Billy Bragg she thought it was too short, so he wrote extra verses for her. Pretty weird, it'd be cool if the Misfits did that for Green Day. Not that it'll ever happen, for various reasons. Can't say I'd be interested either way.

NOPE no one can do it better than the Misfits. GD should leave this one alone.

I don't think the point of a cover should be to do it better. The best covers put a new spin on a song without trying to imitate or better the original, I don't think any song is above having that done to it. And Green Day have achieved that before, probably best with Working Class Hero. Be interesting to hear a proper Green Day take on this one.

They already have a studio recorded version of it, AND they aren't the type of band to put covers on an album. Maybe if they release another B-sides and cover album like shenanigans it'll be on there.

Yea. It was on kerplunk 2

There's a bit of a difference between a random EP they released in their teens and an EP that they release as a huge band in their 40s.

um because that 21 years ago before they were on a major record label. They are much older now and capable of writing a whole album and making it epic without putting a cover in.

I think Green Day's version of A Quick One When He's Away is a lot better than The Who's.

I think their Hybrid Moments cover should've been a bonus track for UNO, they did it on 21cb and A quick one and another state of mind are genius and the other two are good as well

I'm kinda shocked Townsend approved anyone to cover that song since it's a personal song bout Townsend's childhood... I liked GD's version as I've never liked The Who's production

They had Who Bob Dylan Elvis and another cover on the itunes deluxe of 21st century...

Yeah but I meant on the actual album, and yeah the network covered the misfits too, but I mean, Green Day knew their covers weren't necessary for 21stCB so they put it as a b-side.
