peppermint butler Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 I love 21cbd. It's a great album. Now I've always thought there was a plot behind it, but can't really decode it. What Are your ideas?
Gregorovich Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 There's supposed to be a vague overarching plot, but it's much more allegorical than American Idiot. Christian and Gloria are not traditional characters in the same respect as Jesus or Jimmy; they are two contrasting representatives of a generation.
Spike Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Yeah, the plot is so vague it isn't really there at all. It's more a pair of opposing concepts, but there isn't really a coherent story, as such, to be had.
Certified Nimrod Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Billie explained the album as "a snapshot of the era in which we live." This thread is going to get closed, by the way.
Bastard of 1969 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Yes, you should ask that in Q&A thread section!
Fuzz Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Here's a topic for this conversation http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/85430-21st-century-breakdown-story/
