Do The People In Your Life Like GD?

I'm curious to know if your friends/family/significant others/etc love Green Day as much as you do, or if they even like them at all. My husband is the only person I know that loves them as much as I do. Otherwise, most of my friends either never liked them, or stopped listening to them years ago. My parents appreciate them because of how much I love them, but that's pretty much it.

Even though my friends don't listen to them, they still humor me and let me talk about them and play them songs and stuff, but mostly I try not to get TOO crazy about it because I know they really don't care. I guess that's how I ended up here with you fine folks!

I've gotten my mom to really like them, which is great, and I actually met my best friend because I wore a Green Day shirt to class one day and she totally loves them. Most of my friends hate them and are kind of assholes about it though, but there's maybe one or two who are indifferent.

I've actually had quite a few people say "Oh, I love Green Day!" when the band comes up in a conversation. One girl I know actually has dozens of pics of Billie Joe on her computer. Other than that, my dad already owned Dookie, International Superhits, and American Idiot before I got into them, and on a business trip to New York he saw A.I. on Broadway. Everyone else is either indifferent or has decided they "aren't cool anymore".

It may sound really weird but I actually like that none of me real life friends like GD as much as I do. They don't hate them, they know and like couple of hits like BOBD or Holiday but that's it. Guess I'm afraid that if I will get into anything with someone who likes Green Day, I will associate their music with this person eventually. And y'know, friendships end, relationships got fucked up very often, and I already ruined many awesome bands for myself just because listening them always reminds me someone. So I like to keep GD just for myself

And my parents are not really into them, but they always support me and ask what's new in a GD world. Like literally 10 minutes ago we had nice GD talk on kitchen, I showed my mum Mojo pics and she said that we also should buy a frenchie And they always watch YouTube videos from concerts I attended (hoping to see me somewhere) so when I get home from show (usually 2-3 days after the concert since I live in a small town), I start to tell them about show and they're like nah, we already saw everything on Youtube

And no, hardly anyone I ask (on rare occasions) likes Green Day. Be it young people or older ones.

I only have two friends that like Green Day. I haven't seen one in two years though, and the other I've never met. They both live in my city but we just don't hangout I guess. It's still a good feeling that I at least have them though. I always talk about Green Day with them on Facebook and such.

As for my other friends, they don't like Green Day at all.
My family detests Green Day. My two younger cousins went to the same Green Day show I did and they claim to like Green Day, but they only know a few songs off of American Idiot. My parents think they're 'heavy metal' and 'satanic' and my brother isn't into that type of music, so I'm alone with the obsession in my home.

Yeah, they're one of my brother's favorite bands. My sister likes them well-enough, she's not a fan but she has a casual like for them. My parents like them in general, but have certain songs that they really like. My dad tends to like their early stuff like Dookie and Insomniac, whereas my mom likes the Warning-AI era. My friend Ryan likes them too, he was once a big fan. He still likes them, but isn't the huge fan he once was (kinda like me lol). Though every person I mentioned doesn't like the trilogy at all.

And i met a friend on Facebook who "lives near by me", and she loves them as much as i do, but we're not always have the time to hang out, it's complicated sometimes

I don't really know anybody that loves them the way in which I do. I know people who know the odd song but aren't exactly the biggest fan in the world. Most of the people I know hate them

There are people at school that claim to like them. (Of course,only hearing their hit singles.) and there are people who blindly hate them like the people who generally do claim to "Hate" Green Day. Only hardcore fans are me,and my 2 friends (Who I have converted into "Idiots" )

My mom hates them, my dad thinks they are repulsive. It's one of the reasons I'm out of the house as soon as I turn 18.

Most people I know at school claim to be GD fans, but the only 2 songs they know are Boulevard of Broken Dreams and 21 Guns. Maybe WMUWSE if they are one of the "bigger" fans. Which drives me insane because that doesn't count as being a fan! They have no clue what albums those 2-3 songs are from, nevermind Dookie, Warning, Nimrod etc. They don't even know what the band members names are. It's like, "I'm a Green Day fan! Wait, who is Billie Joe?".

And then at church I'm the black sheep because GD is "satanic" music.

I have several friends who are really big fans of Green Day.

My dad really appreciates and enjoys a lot of their work, although he firmly believes the Trilogy is atrocious - it's not their best, but I do still like some of it - and my mother happily listens to their singles on the TV or radio with me. They've 'grown' on her, even though she claims they look like 'druggies'.

My little brother can't stand them, though.

Let's see... My mom, brother, and friend do, and so does my dad, but he only likes Dookie through American Idiot. My grandpa also said they weren't that bad when I played a few songs when he was in the car. Other people I've met just don't really care about them.
