Ross_19 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Hey all, I apologize if this has been discussed previously, but I was just thinking and thought this... The launch of iUno! iDos! and iTre! didn't really good as planned, obviously, so something I thought I'd like to see happen would be for the band to kind of re-launch them on their respective aniversaries/birthdays, maybe where the band put on a show and maybe play the album in full. I, personally, would like to see something like this happen, since the 3 album's launch last year didn't quite go as planned, have you guys got any thoughts on this?
jetpackblues Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 That would be great, maybe they could release a deluxe version of each album on that day???
sara_gd Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 That they play the albums live on their aniversaries is a cool idea. Not likely at all though And as for the re-release... I don't think it would work. If it didn't sell last year it's not going to sell this year, and a deluxe version would mean that only the fans, who already bought the album just a year ago, would buy it again, and it was only a year ago so it's not likely either that we would buy it (I wouldn't).
Ross_19 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 I would love to see them play each album live, just hopefully they think about doing something, since the launch of the albums didn't go to plan really, we can hope for something
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 They should just chalk it up as a failure and move on. Any kind of re-release would only highlight that if the records were good enough in the first place they wouldn't need to be re-released. They should try and use it as a lesson to write something that is undeniable, if they still have it in them.
Sappy Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I think that would be cool, but there are so many Green Day fans who hate the Trilogy, so a concert of only those songs would disappoint a lot of other fans. I do think they are trying to sell more albums by doing the Tre/Cuatro bundle, and I expect some more things like that. but I don't see a rerelease of them, unless Billie decides to add deluxe versions with some more songs out of the 60+ he wrote for the Trilogy, but I'd rather see something like Shenanigans with those songs! Though, this is very unlikely, sadly lol. who knows, they might just move on from the Trilogy and release a new album in a couple of years, I personally love the Trilogy, but it has been seen as a failure to many fans.
Guest Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 They should release a remix of Nightlife guest starring Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Slash.
Ross_19 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 I personally don't see the Trilogy as a failiure, I just wonder what it would of been like had all the launches and all the promo gone well, ah well, hopefully they'll do something for the Trilogy's anniversary, maybe a bonus song or something They should release a remix of Nightlife guest starring Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Slash. You never know
musso_kn Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The only sort of 'celebration' I want to see is an announcement of world tour dates. A re-release feels gimmicky and unnecessary to me. I have all the albums. I don't want them again.
MaraGreenDay Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 How about if for the anniversary they release ¡Cuatro! for everybody!!!
ThranaM Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 How about if for the anniversary they release ¡Cuatro! for everybody!!! You know that Cuatro is for sale around the world right?
WhiteTim Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 You know that Cuatro is for sale around the world right? For UK and Germany yes Not in America or other areas it's not unless you want to order online and pay import prices
MaraGreenDay Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 You know that Cuatro is for sale around the world right? Are you talking about the bundle? Cause that's not on sale here, that's just for Europe
ThranaM Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Are you talking about the bundle? Cause that's not on sale here, that's just for Europe ohh ok, my mistake
R_Z-Log Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I feel like 2014 is going to be SUCH a big year for them, what with Dookie and American Idiot hitting 20 and 10 year anniversaries. Their best bet would be to concentrate on that, and just let the trilogy fade away a little bit. Everyone that loves it (the trilogy I mean) already loves it, and people that didn't like it or didn't even know that it exists aren't going to care... Sad but true!
DookieBoy21 Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Hey all, I apologize if this has been discussed previously, but I was just thinking and thought this... We got Tre earlier than expected!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats not exactly a bad thing
inthehallwaynow Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 they should put out a 4 cd tribute to the trilogy..
Virtue Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Well...They could always appear on more media, and promote it. Uno Dos and Tre could have sleeper hits. It wasn't as a success as they'd like due to promotion..I mean, no matter how good the music is. If you can't promote it to get it out to everyone to hear, not many will hear about it (Unless they're of course hardcore Green Day fans). Either way, As it has been states, They do have the 20th and 10th Anniversary of Dookie and American Idiot respectively. So 2014 is already a big year, promoting the album(s) will make it an even bigger year. That's only in my opinion,
SamMacs Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 I think that if they should have done anything it would have been releasing 99 Revolutions as a single before the tour. Now it's pointless with a single and a re-release of some sort would not be worth doing in any case.
DookieLukie Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It really is a shame...all that happened. It needed to happen of course, but the Trilogy, despite its occasional filler material, has a lot of gems that probably could have taken off at least on rock radio.

The anniversaries will be this year not 2014
belinda jane Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 also i can't believe it's been almost a year since uno came out this time last year i was checking gdc frantically everyday for news about the albums. makes me sad how everything panned out i knoooww this is exactly the same thing i did! and i remember they were doing an appearance on my birthday, because uno came out a day before my birthday and i was like "GOD DAMMIT I'M IN THE WRONG COUNTRY". but turns out they cancelled that appearance. pretty sure it was a signing. boo
R_Z-Log Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 The anniversaries will be this year not 2014 No, I know that the trilogy's anniversaries are this year... I was just saying that with some MAJOR anniversaries happening next year (actually... Dookie's is 6 months from tomorrow if I'm not mistaken), THAT should be their focus, and they should just let the Trilogy lie for a little bit. Maybe celebrate a different milestone for them later on down the line.
moonflower93 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I'd rather wait to see Dookie's 20th and AI's 10th prior to seeing any bigger spectacle over the trilogy.
ollhjr Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 The only thing I would want if they would try to re-release anything as an anniversary for the trilogy would to release an ep of the remixed guitars that Billie was working on a couple of months ago (maybe have Mike, Tre, and Jason change/add different parts...). Otherwise as has been stated cut the loss, keep touring, and take some time to release a new album whenever they feel like it. They should release a remix of Nightlife guest starring Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, and Slash. Or just do this and I'd be all up in the club dancing like this... http://s3-ec.buzzfed.com/static/enhanced/webdr03/2013/1/30/16/anigif_enhanced-buzz-13358-1359582549-0.gif
