SaintJimmyvdBlom Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I can't be the only one liking to find out about little misprints and oddities on albums, vinyl, singles etc. We all know about the clear misprint on ¡Dos! vinyl with Drama Queen, but smaller things like misprints on CD or on the booklets are even more fun to notice Today I was just looking through some of my stuff when I found out on my Polish Dookie Cassette the misspelled Burnout for Bournout, further more I noticed some a misspelling in the name of the hall where they recorded the live tracks on the Longview single (W0247CD) this was Jannuf Landing, St Petersburg, Florida while it should be Jannus Landing, St Petersburg, Florida. I don't know what it is, these are small things which can make me smile. The imperfections of Green Day
Nemo. Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 that issue with drama queen was not a misprint ... they put it last minute into tré but the vinyl was already produced...
fromdecimateddreams Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I'm not exactly sure if this is a misprint, per se, but the lyrics for Macy's Day Parade in the Warning booklet say "when all along it was me and you" when I swear that he says "a lesson learned to me and you" in the song. Like it doesn't even sound like "all along" at all, so I dunno.
frunsi Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 some copies of the "minority" 7" on black vinyl are known to have only 2 tracks listed on the back cover instead of the 4 that are on the record. the clear vinyl version of that 7" has "www.adeiinerecords.net" written on the back cover instead of "www.adelinerecords.net" (at least my copy does) edit: here's the 2 instead of 4 tracks record and here's the "adeiinerecords"
ThibautDookie Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Someone here, i remember said that his Insomniac album was entitled Insomniaa not Insomniac.
Annie, get your gun Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The "misprints" of lyrics I think are more like the songs changed vocally after the booklets were already printed! On the American Idiot cd all the numbers from the songs are red except for Wake Me Up When September Ends, which is white. And that's all I know. But personally I don't like to find these misprints & oddities
Iva Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Isn't the last word of the third verse of Longview LONELY and not BREAKING as stated in the booklet?
belinda jane Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 i remember reading somewhere that some of the 21cb albums had the original title for one of the songs. i think the original one was "march of the dogs" or something. i can't remember what that original title was for though.
fromdecimateddreams Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I feel like the difference in color for WMUWSE versus the rest of the album may have been intentional, actually. Cause that song doesn't really go along with the whole storyline of AI and it's also a song about Billie's father's passing, so maybe putting the number for it in white rather than red is kind of a peaceful way of paying homage to him, you know? Red is also kind of a harsh color when it comes to subjects like that, and white is a bit more... calm, maybe. I dunno, maybe I'm just reading too far into it, but it makes sense to me for some reason.
Clean Cut Asshole Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 i remember reading somewhere that some of the 21cb albums had the original title for one of the songs. i think the original one was "march of the dogs" or something. i can't remember what that original title was for though. That was the original title of "East Jesus Nowhere", and yeah I heard that some copies of the album listed it like that. Personally, I like finding misprints and stuff. Though I can't really think of any misprint I've found.

bagelfeet Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 There's a version of Dos that has Nuclear Family, Stay the Night, Carpe Diem, Let Yourself Go, Kill The DJ, Fell For You, and Loss Of Control, but on the disc it says "Feel for You", and it also says it on a version of Tré
Todd Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 On one of the Longview singles, it says Christy Road instead of Christie Road. And when you put Kerplunk into the computer, I think that track is mislabled as well
idc Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 According to the 2009 Tour Book my, very first concert, the secret show in Cologne, Germany on May 9th, 2009 was in Cologne, France Edit: Sorry, it's actually the show in Rocktober, 5th 2009! Alright this is the tourbook i'm talking about And here is the fail. Next to fabulous Mike!
JellyTime Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 First European version of 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours says Billy instead of Billie. Shenanigans cassette says "Na Na You're Dead".
J&TheNight Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I know that in the lyric sheets for the guitar tab book, the same as the Cd, a lot of the lyrics are wrong.
PigSniffingGlue Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Isn't the last word of the third verse of Longview LONELY and not BREAKING as stated in the booklet? this has been bothering me FOREVER
dangreenday Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 can everyone post pics of the missprints they have please
Jon Herroon Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I remember thinking my booklet for nimrod was a misprint for the longest time because it didn't have platypus in it. It was just a year or so ago that I found out they didn't print it because of Billie's "potty mouth".
Dillwad Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I originally bought Dookie on cassette, but when I finally got a CD player back in 1995, I went out and bought Dookie on CD. The gold Dookie image on the CD is skewed and smeared, and I think it even looks like it was attempted to be printed on twice. I am not home right now, but I will try to scan and upload an image of it for you all to see.
Karl Karlson Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 On one of the Longview singles, it says Christy Road instead of Christie Road. And when you put Kerplunk into the computer, I think that track is mislabled as well I wanted to tell you the last time, but it's not a mistake on the CD or something. It's the data which the program provides; someone typed it in and saved it for everybody. Try it with another CD-rip program

Karl Karlson Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Maybe that's why I get a load of weird writing when I put International Superhits into iTunes then yep, I have it with many CDs, the same with local bands^^
