jtdscape Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Today we have a #ThrowbackThursday that is very special to me, in a few hours I will be graduating high school so I decided to make this week's throwback one of my first memories of Green Day. Back in the fifth grade I would go over my friend Sean's house and he would burn me CD's with Green Day's music on it and we would watch music videos on MTV.com since he had "high speed" internet when I was still on dialup.The first music video we ever watched together was "American Idiot" and right after that we watched the making of the video. Since Green Day has played such a huge part in my middle and high school years I thought this would be a fitting video for today. Part 2

I love at the end of the second video, Sam said that he wanted this video to look as good 10 years from now as it does now. It's crazy to realize American Idiot will be turning 10 next year and this video will always be incredible! Never will get old!
justcause Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Just look at the fucking energy of this - American Idiot was so fucking explosive that it sparked off anyone who came in contact with it, and you can see it in Bayer's creativity here. I've been revisting stuff from the era recently, and becoming even more aware of how American Idiot was celebrated, like when the whole world gets hold of something that everyone knows is truly great, and they can't get enough of it. These videos are alive with that electricity, that excitement, that moment. Thanx for posting them, and congratz on your graduation!!
