SEAtacticsFTW Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I guess discuss this y'all. I think we will see a live album, but I am not to sure about a Live Blu-ray/DVD. It would be cool if they did, but I don't see it. After the failed promo of the Trilogy it would be weird to see a live DVD. Also if anyone goes to a show, please post some pics if they have a Camera crew or some video & audio guys. We can spot what is going to be on the Album/Blu-ray if there is one or if there isn't. I will also be updating this almost every show. Update May 29th: Cameras spotted at 2013/05/29 show Oh and I also think that they played it in serbia and vienna because of that DVD thing, there have been a LOT of photopraphers and also some little cams have been here and there on stage. [update June 1st 2013: Cameras at Emirates Stadium]
green day is Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Actually I heard from some artist that DVDs make more money than CDs. I really don't remember who it was but in an interview they were talking about how they had a failed album and then they were gonna put out a live thing, but they said they were doing a DVD cause a CD wouldn't be worth it. This thread's gonna get closed BTW.
The Forgotten Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 yea there's a CINCO thread I believe this could be discussed in
70 Times 7 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 little one, you watch the Walking Dead too? THE LAST EPISODE WAS CRAZY AS FUCK
SEAtacticsFTW Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 little one, you watch the Walking Dead too? THE LAST EPISODE WAS CRAZY AS FUCK A little off topic. but yeah. I think Robert Kirkman did right. I hate how people complained about it. Uhhhh yeah so Green Day hopefully will peform a couple stuff for a live record. YES on topic.
Jean Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I think they recorded last night's show with all the Dookie songs to release in a special edition of the album next year.
Davis Weiss Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I noticed in LA right in front of me there were some backwards facing Mics which I assume we're for crowd recording
Letterbomb44 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I think they recorded last night's show with all the Dookie songs to release in a special edition of the album next year. Not a bad idea I really think this could be cinco with freese and then matika would be like a the possible remastered tracks that Billie mentioned so seis all six of them
WhiteTim Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Not a bad idea I really think this could be cinco with freese and then matika would be like a the possible remastered tracks that Billie mentioned so seis all six of them But but Freese and Matika are just touring members lol I hope 2014 brings the live album/dvd the 20th Dookie deluxe and the 10th AI with HLAHG dvd deluxe
green day is Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 But but Freese and Matika are just touring members lol I hope 2014 brings the live album/dvd the 20th Dookie deluxe and the 10th AI with HLAHG dvd deluxe I think that was the idea, a live album with the live members on the cover.
WhiteTim Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I think that was the idea, a live album with the live members on the cover. I know i was just messin around
Letterbomb44 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 But but Freese and Matika are just touring members lol I hope 2014 brings the live album/dvd the 20th Dookie deluxe and the 10th AI with HLAHG dvd deluxe Ya but its a great possibility and man Tim you're making this gd fan excited as fuck definitely next will hold some great surprises for green day fans but start saving now!!! I spent 100s on this last era with merch converse and the concert itself
Sanity Loan Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I noticed in LA right in front of me there were some backwards facing Mics which I assume we're for crowd recording Yep! Every show is recorded for archiving purposes. Full audio, some video.
green day is Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yep! Every show is recorded for archiving purposes. Full audio, some video. Have they said that for this tour? I know they did for the tour AAF is from, but do they still do that?
Cob Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 What if they release a Dookie DVD next year with that documentary that's supposed to be all old footage? Maybe even with a making of documentary? When Alkaline Trio hit the 10th Anniversary of their first album, they rereleased the album with a DVD that documented their beginnings and contained footage from a couple shows where they had played that album in it's entirety. Green Day could very well go the same route with a full Dookie performance coupled with documentary footage.
Slave To The Network Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 This would be amazing and I would cry if it happened. I want to see another live film so bad! I want it to be different from Awesome As Fuck, though. Of course that's a great one, but I wish they would have included performances from a variety of different shows rather than just all from one concert. It could be like you're actually following Green Day on their tour from one concert to the next in a bunch of different countries. That would be much more interesting and exciting!
scottrowan200 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 If they do dookie again remastered or whatever I'd like the original artwork idea but more modern art style
Davis Weiss Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yep! Every show is recorded for archiving purposes. Full audio, some video. I wish there was some sort of system where you could get that soundboard audio. Like $15 and you have a live album or $5 if you have your ticket number. Something like that
hpycroft Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 If they recorded Dookie in Serbia for a live DVD would they of had to have posters up telling the audience they were being recorded? I went to a script concert once where they were filming and live streaming and they had posters up at the entrances saying if you cross the threshold you are consenting to being filmed. Not sure whether this was just a UK law though?
WhiteTim Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I doubt they'll do a live album to promote the trilogy - they haven't played nearly enough trilogy songs live to fill an album. I bet they are going to come out with a live Dookie album though because the album turns 20 next year (WOOT DOOKIE!) Why not? AAF was the live cd on the 21st tour but it only features 5 songs from the 21st album they play 6-7 tracks from the trilogy so they could
Cath Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 actually they would have enough trilogy songs to make a DVD they played on the 2013 tour so far: Oh Love, Stay the Night, Nuclear Family, Carpe Diem, Kill the DJ, Rusty James, Stop when the red Lights Flash, Stray Heart, Fuck Time, 99 revolutions, Brutal Love, X Kid which is 12 songs and they will probably add more soon and if not they could add those who were played before the tour: Angel Blue, Troublemaker, Kill the DJ, Let Yourself Go, Makeout Party, Lady Cobra, Wild One, Amy, Sex Drug & Violence, Missing You & 8th Avenue Serenade. which make 23 songs/37
