cindeeedasilva
Warner (or at least from 2010) doesn't do sunset clauses tho so that wouldn't apply to GD Only major label that puts that clause in is Sony/Columbia/BMG Universal is optional they let the label handle that like Geffen does that but Cash Money doesn't Usually that clause is put in when they will let the artists buy the rights to the catalog back from the label which Warner isn't a label that allows that Thanks for clarifying Tim! My company works closely with Universal Music Canada and Univeral/Republic in the states so I'm only relatively familiar with their terms, I wasn't aware Warner worked differently (or at least as of 2010 as you mentioned). Either way, I'm still excited about what comes after this Trilogy and I'm positive it will be great. The experience seemed life altering to the band especially with Billie's rehab stint, getting into their 40s etc. I'm sure we're in for something new and awesome
Sanity Loan
I've written an article for GDA regarding this matter. I wanted to post it a few weeks ago but it seemed like we would be sweeping the trilogy and tour under the rug. I hope to get it up later this year, because I really like it. The sunset clause is a good one but it's not a required by law one so labels and entertainment (movies and book houses have similar clauses) have the option of using it i think Universal probally the best one to use it but then again i think Universal probally have the best company out of the labels contract wise and paying on time wise
itz_brittany87
I'm still digesting the trilogy but I don't see an album happening until 2015 or later because they have monumental anniversaries next year with the 20th of Dookie and 10th of American Idiot. Has it been that long since these albums were released it felt like yesterday they just dropped.
IsaGreenDay
I can feel it's going to be surprisingly good. It's going to be something huge, like American Idiot. And I'm not talking about album sales, I'm talking about something really inspiring, that can hit the top charts or not.
Annie, get your gun
It'll sound wonderful; but I don't want to think about it, 'cause thinking about all the unreleased music they have drives me crazy. I feel I want to have it all and that's wrong. And I'm terrible to predict the time, so it will come out when it has to come out soon, I hope. Let the boys keep killing it with their tour, for god's sake!

Awesompawsome
money money 2020 and stop drop and roll don't count because those aren't green day albums. everything they've ever done has still had a catchy pop punk undertone to it even with the rock operas. i wouldn't be surprised if they do some experimenting but i really don't think they're ever going to completely move away from pop punk. Yeah I see what you're saying but as the person I was quoting said Pop punk was green days core which I don't think is true anymore, sure they have pop punk tracks now but since nimrod they've gradually gone away from pop punk in Green day and their side projects, so I don't think they have a "pop punk core" anymore

HARVESTER
With the number of people saying that they are playing their old songs and not many of their new songs... I am thinking that it has to do with what was said at iheart and I pray that this is not their last tour. I hope that their next album is so emotional that people go on a roller coaster just listening to it... with ups and downs, ending in something where you can get a visual image through the sound. LazyPhil
1994 we got Dookie, 2004 American Idiot, as I've said many many times, they're probably up to something big for 2014.

Doubt it the last 3 (or 5 if counting the trilogy as seperate) have taken a year and longer to record and considering Billie has stated he hasnt written songs yet I doubt we get a new album in 2014

St. Christian Of Suburbia
You know what I would love next? International Superhits II! Track list: 1. New/unreleased track 2. New/unreleased track 3. American Idiot 4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams 5. Holiday 6. Wake Me Up When September Ends 7. Jesus of Suburbia 8. The Saints are Coming 9. Know Your Enemy 10. 21 Guns 11. East Jesus Nowhere 12. 21st Century Breakdown 13. Last of the American Girls 14. When It's Time 15. Cigarettes and Valentines (Studio Version) 16. Oh Love 17. Kill The DJ 18. Let Yourself Go 19. Stray Heart 20. The Forgotten 21. X-Kid I included 2 unreleased tracks at the beginning so that it matches the original--besides, you can't have a greatest hits without a couple unreleased songs! Flyingdonutz
I'd like another International Superhits like album. Greatest hits + some B-Sides on an album. After that, probably do another concept album. Somewhere between the way they approached American Idiot and 21CB. Make the story actually noticeable, but also keep a lot more songs with a bigger meaning in it. Certainly do not approach it the way they did the trilogy. Since this period has less albums/periods to account for, I hope they add some stuff from Cigs+Valentines, like a studio version of the title track. I could see it like this: American Idiot Stay the Night East Jesus Nowhere Cigarettes and Valentines Shoplifter Lights Out Wake Me Up When September Ends Brutal Love Holiday BoBD Know Your Enemy Favorite Son 99 Revs (I'm assuming it will become a single in the future) new song 21 Guns Jesus of Suburbia
GaxnorianLiberator
Am I the only one who actually doesn't give a fuck about their next album? Uno! and Tre! weren't all that good so I have started to like GD less. Carpe Diem let me down. Tre! Has too many slow songs it makes me want to put a gun to my head and pull the trigger to at least go out with a BANG!. Yes, Carpe Diem was pretty much the only reason I bought Uno! and it is shit compared to the secret show versions. I don't get why people don't like Dos! it has the Garage-Rock feel. Oh well their opinion doesn't matter to me Fuck 'em.

SEAtacticsFTW
we JUST got 3 albums. like, 8 months ago. they're not even half way through their first leg of the tour. how are people already thinking about their next one? They also barely support these albums. I think for me atleast I am stoked to see what is coming next for GD. I am done with the Trology.

Letterbomb44
Curious did anyone notice the trend UNO dos tre broke? Like 1994 dookie to insomniac 1995 one year 97 nimrod 2 years 2000 warning 3 years 2004 American idiot 4 years and 2009 21cb 5 years? I was expecting the trilogy like 2015 haha so who knows? I know Billie mentioned having great eqs to where the music sounds live on the album instead of polished even grittier than stop drop and roll or dosStill a chance they'll re start the promo Unfortunately I don't think the promo will happen they're amazing songs fuck those who don't think they were...I haven't even heard xkid on the radio so I think the label gave up on them which is a shame all sorts go to rehab and their albums are still heavily promoted... Ya know what pisses me off if say bieber was in billies situation they'd have no problem pushing his shit but when it comes to real pure rock nope they dismiss it gd should be at the top of the charts not fucking Nikki manaj or one direction this generation is terrible "god love you all... - Billie they'll be back with something edgy I think it could turn around this bs so called music even and bring back real rock into the mainstream again... Like Jason said this band can still do so many things and Billie can do so many things we don't know about. I have faith thanks if you read this
