Chelsee Angevine Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here, but I couldn't find a post like it or anything!) So Green Day obviously loves writing songs about chicks, whether romantic or not: Haushinka, Amy, Amanda, Whatsername, Ashley (wow I just caught onto that "A" thing..)... Who are all these girls?! This is a place to discuss what we know and don't know about the girls of Green Day. Obviously some are openly based on real people (Amy) but who is this Amanda? Any full answers (with sources) or inquiries are welcome!
The Forgotten Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 we've also got Lady Cobra and Adrienne (80) , but they're obvious Amy is Amy Winehouse, and the song was written as a tribute to her after she died Whatsername and Amanda are the same ex-girlfriend Billie had called...Amanda, who was also the inspiration for many other songs like "She" Haushinka was a japanese girl Billie met in his early days Ashley... no fucking clue

The Forgotten Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Whoa!! How did you know that about Amanda/Whatsername? The Forgotten Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Talking about this do you know if I can buy this book in any shops or I need to command it on internet? I got it at an HMV
Chelsee Angevine Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 I'll admit that although I do love Green Day, I am probably not as big of fans as you guys. But I'd love to read that! How can I get my hands on it?
ChelseaDagger Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I bought mine on chapters.indigo.ca amazon too but I think someone said that already
Heather. Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 so..... WHO THE FUCK IS ASHLEY? Billie did mention that he was writing about "imaginary ex-girlfriends" so she could definitely be one of those...
Chelsee Angevine Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 Billie did mention that he was writing about "imaginary ex-girlfriends" so she could definitely be one of those... I wonder why. He did once say he just liked to write love songs. Though I suppose love songs aren't break-up songs haha. Also, if I were Adrienne, I would kind of be like "Hey, Billie... We've kind of been together for a while... Can you stop singing about this other girl so much..?" She's a secure woman, that's for sure.
The Forgotten Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Also, if I were Adrienne, I would kind of be like "Hey, Billie... We've kind of been together for a while... Can you stop singing about this other girl so much..?" She's a secure woman, that's for sure. She addressed that in her Idiot Club Q&A , she said she's fine with it and she dosen't want to hold back on Billie's emotions and creative process

Also, if I were Adrienne, I would kind of be like "Hey, Billie... We've kind of been together for a while... Can you stop singing about this other girl so much..?" She's a secure woman, that's for sure. she understands that Billie's writing has got a lot to do with his past, and girls are always a part of that.
Met Fan Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 the song they proceed to play is Amanda... so it's implied they're the same person http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIpD_6hUxJs Wait a second, this is the only proof?
WhiteTim Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Wait a second, this is the only proof? Well Billie has also said it in GW as well
musso_kn Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 You're all forgetting the girl named 'Kill' from Blood, Sex and Booze
Todd Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 IMO Ashley is allegory of drug addiction. This is seriously the best thing ever. Never thought of it like that, but totally yeah.
PanicAttack! Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 She, Chump, Sassafras Roots, Stuart and the Ave, She's a Rebel, Whatsername, Amanda=Amanda. Read Nobody Likes You by Marc Spitz, that talks a lot about Billie's exes. What's the deal with that book? As far as I've heard it isn't an "official" release, but does this Marc Spitz have some inside resources? I want to read it if the guy is legit, and the book shows some in-depth research and isn't just based on things we all can get a hold of.
