brianbags Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Anyone really disappointed they had no TV appearances in promotion of not one, but three albums and a tour (besides GMA and VMAs)? Yeah, the rehab thing, but they pretty much bagged the whole thing afterwards. I believe a Kimmel or Ellen appearance was cancelled and never rescheduled. For me, these appearances are a huge thing to look forward too. I'd love to talk to their marketing manager or whoever is in charge of promotion, because whether or not the Billie thing happened, there should have been some kind of TV promotion for all they have going on.
Keith Baldwin Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Yeah I was also wondering are they going to reschedule them even for some time near because to have no tv promotion for as you said, the three albums and tour, it's seems a bit crazy
Tubbie Head Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Maybe they'll make some appearances while they're on tour now. I was also looking forward to see that.
Sarahnade Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I think you kind of summed it up in the last sentence. There should have been some TV promotion. I think the reason we aren't seeing anything is that they're already touring at this point and the albums have been out for awhile. The ship has already sailed for any serious televised promotion.

Yeah, but this should've happened as soon as last week. No album promotion is excused for what happened. I remember when they played Last of the American Girls on Fallon, that was in like July in promotion of their tour. I remember cause I went to the first show of it, hehe Well...actually that was in the middle of the tour then. So maybe there's some hope. Though I remember one of the Fallons was prerecorded, so maybe not...
Lauren Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'd love to see Green Day on Ellen! I believe she was really looking forward to it as well!
pasalacquaian Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'd love to see Green Day on Ellen! I believe she was really looking forward to it as well! Now THAT would be amazing!! And I mean, so many people watch Ellen too so it'd be great way of advertising.
DoodleBob Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I am a bit disappointed about the Ellen thing. I've been waiting years for them to get on Ellen.

The Forgotten Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I wanna see them on Letterman and/or Jimmy Fallon.... and mother fucking SNL!
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I wanna see them on Letterman and/or Jimmy Fallon.... and mother fucking SNL! Tre in a skit = comedic genius
moonflower93 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 maybe when before they start their European tour in June, they can squeeze in one or two appearances, with the promotion of 99 Revolutions, as a song and tour.
Shredder2 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Tre won't let Letterman rest. Just wait. Tre always pulls off some hilarious stuff on Letterman! It'd be a shame for them to not perform a trilogy song on Letterman. I wanna see them on Letterman and/or Jimmy Fallon.... and mother fucking SNL! ...and don't even get me started on Green Day being on SNL! xD
DirtyRottenForgotten Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 They have to at least do Letterman for Tre!
Eva Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 They released three albums on a major label. TV promotion is needed eventually.
Sarahnade Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I'd love to see them on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon....but that's mostly because I also really love Jimmy Fallon.
Annie, get your gun Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I was so excited about them being on the Ellen show... But they just reappeared! Give them some time, I'm sure they will go somewhere (THEY HAVE TO.)
Strayheart1219 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I feel youuuu. My biggest let down was the Ellen show canceled. Hoping that maybe someday they will be a guest.
MaraGreenDay Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Yeah i wanna see them on Ellen, SNL, or just random show, but i just wanna see them!! Hope they do this appearances eventually
Guest Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Am I the only one who isn't overly worried about the lack of TV stuff? It almost seems pointless to me. 99% of the people who watch them on those shows watch them on Youtube or wherever the clips get uploaded to. Why not move into the 2010s and start doing webcasts or online interviews? Most of their fanbase is young internet based teenagers. They stand to gain a much greater audience that way. I dunno, TV just really doesn't seem that important to me anymore.

I dunno, TV just really doesn't seem that important to me anymore. I don't really see it as important, and I agree that I'd rather see some more online interviews. It would just be nice to see them (for me anyway) back on shows like Letterman, especially seen as they've been on that show with most of their album releases (if I'm not mistaken). It would be a way of showing that the whole rehab thing only delayed a few things, instead of cancelling them completely.
Annie, get your gun Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I totally forgot about Saturday Night Live! I want them to go there too (and I always thought it would be awesome if the participate in a sketch ) Oh! and Live From Abbey Road as well...
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I always love watching their Jools Holland performance where Billie knocks over his mic stand
DoubleTen95 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I thought this way back when billie joe wasn't in rehab. I was disappointed when SNL never even had them on
