~ Walking Contradiction Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Green Day are the last headline act to be announced at this year's Reading & Leeds festivals. NME speak to the band about whether they can finally put this past year behind them.Dan Stubbs asks bassist Mike Dirnt what the current state of play is. You can see a preview of the magazine here: http://issuu.com/nmemagazine/docs/16th-march-13#embed Edit: Thanks very much to stuart_and_the_ave for the scans! : Scans There are 2 scans for each page because NME is bigger than A4 and my scanner couldn't fit it on 1 page
Ritz Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Mike's interviews are always interesting to read. Looking forward to the scans!
desecrator09 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 So did we finally get scans of that Rolling Stone article?
WorryRock02 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 very cool!! i don't know if i'll got a copy of this NME but it 'd be nice to read the scan
The Grohl Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Ugh! I may have to make a trip to the magazine store for this!
WhiteTim Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 So did we finally get scans of that Rolling Stone article? Been had those
WhiteTim Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Thanks In the RS thread check page 34-35 (or it maybe on GDA main page as well)
nothing_wrong_with_me Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 There's one page of the interview in that link, but it's really hard to read because the text is so small and blurry.. But if you try really hard it's possible to read some of it. From what I read I have to say I love Mike even more now! He says that he doesn't care for the bad sales of the trilogy because those albums were made for the fans and that they didn't want to wait a couple of years for each album 'cause you only have one life so there's no reason to waste time. And that they cancelled the tour because he was for the first time really scared for Billie's life. And he also said again that story that he said in RS interview, that they met in a coffee shop and sit on a bench and talked, and he wants to sit with Billie on a bench when they're 90 years old. I'm really glad they have such a good friendship! I'm so looking forward to the scans of the whole interview!
musso_kn Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Oh, God! Festivals, magazine interviews, tour news...all this coverage just highlights for me how 'empty' these past few months have been, what with Billie's rehab and the band's general lack of activity despite the fact they'd just released a triple album. But it's so good to have them back! I need to go and buy this, uhhh
stuart_and_the_ave Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Does NME come out on a Wednesday? I'll be buying it and will scan it too
Trina Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 guys, you can read it from that link if you click on the picture and then you can zoom in using the first thing on the left on the top toolbar. It's a bit blurry but def. readable.
MaraGreenDay Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 It´s to blurry i can´t read it, hope when the magazine comes out someone post scans, please
Red Lights Flash Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Seems to be a good read! I'm really waiting for an interview with Tré though. He's been really out of the picture lately.

Methinks this was the same interview that we got a mere snippet of in RS, but this is the full Mike version.
EastCaitNowhere Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I hardly ever buy NME, but now I think that I might actually buy it this week.
gloria123 Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Interviews with Mike are great because in general he doesn't speak up a lot, but when he does he says the greatest things! he has words of wisdom! i can't wait for scans!
HolyHandGrenade Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Is there any other way to view the article? My computer seems determined to block the link. No idea why.
Andrew Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Is there any other way to view the article? My computer seems determined to block the link. No idea why. The full article isn't there yet. Someone will posts the scans fortunately as I can't bring myself to actually buy NME.
