FoxboroBoy93 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I don't know if there's already a thread on this, but I searched this time and didn't see anything. So I'm curious to what everyone's thoughts are on this album. It's not mentioned very often and seems to be kind of obsolete at times. I want to know if you think Warning should have got more praise than it did, also your favorite songs of the album, what it's impact was with American Idiot, ya know, things of the sort. For one, I think the chorus, solo, and the "WAKE UP!" part's in Waiting have a very AI sound to them. Thanks ^_^
Guest Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Duuuude. There was a thread for Warning on the first page. How hard did you look? http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/78381-warning/ Great album though. Finally got round to buying it today, actually.
stealingimagery Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Personally, I love Warning. Everything about it is the greatest fear of a successful band: expanding/changing their sound. None of it sounds quite like any of their albums before or after, and I think anyone who discredited it was afraid of the changes they were hearing. I thought it was the perfect bridge from Nimrod to American Idiot. My favorites are Blood, Sex and Booze (for the pure sexuality of the song) and Minority (everything about the song makes me want to hear more). It makes me sad to know the album was a flop in the eyes of most people; shit, they hardly ever play anything from that album live. But I love it nonetheless
Lauren Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I like all of Green Day's albums, including Warning. but I think people say "Warning is underrated!" SO FREAKING MUCH that it makes it overrated.

I completely agree, I love the album alot and it does show the band changing their sound a bit. I also love those songs, but my two fave would have to be Fashion Victim and Waiting I like all of Green Day's albums, including Warning. but I think people say "Warning is underrated!" SO FREAKING MUCH that it makes it overrated. Haha never thought of it that way lol Duuuude. There was a thread for Warning on the first page. Yeah but that one's just "Here's a Warning forum, talk." And it's so full, no one can find anything. This one is like a fresh "Hey, what do ya think about this album? What do you really like about it?" kind of thing
Jaymee!! Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Nah, we can still add on to all the discussion happening over in the other thread! It's only at 9 pages after all. http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/78381-warning/
