Iain Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Warning sucks donkey anus. Discuss. I was about to say something about this. I like Warning, but only so much of it. Misery, Church on Sunday, Jackass and some others are alright, but not that great. I can see why people don't like this album as much. I'll still listen to it, but it doesn't seem to dwell on a particular tone or way. I guess this was the more "experimental" album of pre-AI Green Day but at least it has good numbers we all know. I'll agree that some of the songs on there are boring ("Hold On," anyone?), but others are fun. It's a mixed bag. It's a good foot-stamping song! I like it! /harmonicaboner

The Grouch is Tracy Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Or financially? ('Coz I think that's the only possible way it could have sucked!)
Guest Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 and here i thought we could be friends. Warning is my favourite album. this post makes my heart sad. As long as I'm on the topic, Minority is the most overrated GD song out there. And yes, I'm completely serious. (someone's gonna reach through my computer and stab me)
Guest Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Warning is marvelous, nearly every song on there is utter gold
MaraGreenDay Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I love Warning!! Except from Deadbeat Holiday, i don't like it at all

(someone's gonna reach through my computer and stab me) i agree with that. it is horribly over-rated. as a song, it's awful, but as a way to get the crowd pumped, it fucking works. i still love listening to it though. makes me happy. but yeah it does suck.

I only listen to the live version on biab it's fucking magic
Ana. Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Warning has some really good lyrics and songs, but there are 2 or 3 songs that I always skip because they're just boring.

If it wasn't ten minutes long with a harmonica solo and enough hey-ohs to make Freddie Mercury blush, it wouldn't be nearly the live piece that it is. I'm still holding out hope that they one day drop it permanently in favor of Letterbomb, American Eulogy or JOS. Not gonna happen, especially on Letterbomb or AE, but one can still hope.

(someone's gonna reach through my computer and stab me) No, but I am going to riverdance on your ass. Don't ask me why, it reminds me of Irish/celtic music, but maybe it's because I heard it while on holiday in Ireland yeaaaarrrrsssss ago. Or maybe it's because I come from a place where accordions are the fucking shit.
fukingcounterstrike Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Warning sucks donkey anus. Discuss. you must be a girl to have that opinion ben
musso_kn Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Theo only song on Warning I'm not keen on is Hold On. All the others are absolutely class. That sax in Jackass is just hot. Church on Sunday will be my wedding song.
Iain Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I only listen to the live version on biab it's fucking magic Have you heard the live version that came with the Holiday single? It's a fucking belter! It's the same as on BIAB but you'll only hear the harmonica and hey oh's on the DVD, while the Holiday B-Side has the whole shibang on audio, and I like it.

DannyDirnt Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I love Warning. And Hold On is awesome to me. That harmony in the line 'Gotta hold on' is awesome!
dumb shiny bitch Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 everything on biab is fucking magic really Touché all of it sounds better than the studio version because ~dat voice and the guitars and everything just wow A++++ Except for the AI tracks because they were produced to perfection in the studio Have you heard the live version that came with the Holiday single? It's a fucking belter! It's the same as on BIAB but you'll only hear the harmonica and hey oh's on the DVD, while the Holiday B-Side has the whole shibang on audio, and I like it. My dad got me the holiday single from a charity shop the other week.. now i won't have to skip the talky bit everytime thank you!!
Four. Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I love Warning. And Hold On is awesome to me. That harmony in the line 'Gotta hold on' is awesome! they're only singing a third higher though but yeah hold on is great as is the rest of warning. also i saw someone say the musical was a bad idea way back. they better be kidding.
Iain Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 My dad got me the holiday single from a charity shop the other week.. now i won't have to skip the talky bit everytime thank you!! I DID A GOOD!
dumb shiny bitch Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Church on Sunday is brilliant except for the way they keep repeating the chorus over and over at the end. That bores me
The Grouch is Tracy Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 I absolutely adore Misery. I agree that I did not love Minority, and the video sucks, but did like it a hell of a lot better live.
Dalya Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Hold On is great. One of the best songs on Warning; the best one is Deadbeat Holiday for me.
Hermione Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 GTFO Ben This may be an unpopular Warning related opinion: Blood Sex And Booze is by far the best song on the album. It's fabulous . Without it Warning would probably move down my favourite album list at least two places.
