The elephant in the room

I hate be a pessimist. but since I have yet to hear anyone suggest this, I'm going to bring it up for us to discuss:

How likely is it Dos and Tre get delayed?

Billie being in rehab for who knows how long means the band can't shoot videos or perform/promote anywhere (unless Mike and Tre (and maybe Jason) do it alone). Warner Bros isn't stupid. They know they need the band together in order to promote these albums, but that seems like it might be later rather than sooner.

I hope they don't get delayed, because like of all of you, I am excited as hell for them. But it might be time for us to mentally prepare ourselves for bad news. Someone please tell me I'm crazy and there is no chance the albums get delayed!

Earlier today, I thought, Hmmm... it would be nice if they delayed them a bit so they could be properly promoted.

But I highly doubt that's going to happen.

I don't see the elephant in the room here.

I don't think it will be delayed (I skyped Billie Joe, so I know what I'm talking about).

Possibly an elephant in the room

And yeah, really not an elephant in the room since I doubt most even really thought about it.

I think it'd be smart to delay them maybe a month each, but I don't really think it'll happen.

Posted

I never thought about that. Doubt it would happen, but I'd be willing to wait if it meant the albums could be promoted with Billie involved too.

Posted

I doubt they'd delay the albums. Also Rob Cavallo said they didn't know when Billie would be ready, before or after Christmas, so Billie still could be back to do some promotion later in November or December.

I don't think they're going to be delayed either. Though I do agree with everyone saying it would be nice if they were. I'd really like to see Billie healthy, full of energy, and able to be there to promote them when they're released. That would be cool, but it's quite unlikely.

I just hope he's okay before the Seattle concert. That's the one I have a ticket for and it's the first on the tour, so most likely to be canceled. :ermm: But however long it needs to take for him to get better is alright with me. That's what's most important.

Nah, I doubt it. The tour on the other hand, possibly.

This never occoured to me. I think they will still be released on the original dates.

zero chance the albums get delayed

I don't think the albums will get delayed, I feel like it'll end up costing Warner alot more to move back the albums than just release them as is. Plus, they've been marketed with the same release dates since we found out about the trilogy, it'd be more of a clusterfuck to try and change all of that.

Touring and promotion though, that's another story.

Doubtful. Dos especially, is too far into the promotional roll out for them to bother pushing back the release. I have seen single releases get pushed back easily for promotional reasons, though. So maybe those could be affected, especially if they're songs the band was meant to do videos for. Or some could just be scrapped altogether (since there were supposed to be 3 or 4, each, could easily get cut down to one or two per and then get spaced out more). But the actual album releases getting postponed seems doubtful.

You all have made me feel more at ease about the whole situation, thanks! :toocool:

With regards to shooting videos they could just edit live performances of the song, and maybe have some actors telling the story (kind of JOS style but probably with more Green Day)

If they released just one album, they could delay it, but with the trilogy, I think

it's a bad idea. Dos and Tre would propably be overshadowed by Uno,

and they wouldn't feel like a trilogy that much. But without promotions,

the same thing would propably happen. Just hope Billie gets better, and then

we'll see.

This has made me really paranoid now  But I don't think it will happen. The tour may get postponed a bit, which is fair enough, but I'm sure the albums will be fine. Mike, Tre and maybe Jason would probably be fine to promote them on their own.

Posted

It'd cost the label waaayyyy too much money to delay the album then having to pay the promo for new dates...

Posted

I really hope they delay. The guys have worked hard, and now they're not getting the chance to enjoy or promote their work properly.

there too late to be pushed back

I think it's unlikely they'll get delayed, but if they do we'll have a thread about it then. Since there's no official indication that they'll get delayed at this point it's just pure speculation so we don't need a thread for it.

If you want to discuss this thought or anything about Dos or Tre or the Trilogy in general you can use the Trilogy thread.
