To everyone praising Rob Cavallo on this one, I concur, but let's not forget to give credit where credit is also due---Tom fucking Kitt :)

Tom Kitt gets a triple A in my book :) the addition of the strings in the song is abolutely prefect :3

This song would be so out of place with the songs on iUNO! :P

I can totally see now why multiple albums were required to get these songs out.

That just made me stupidly emotional. The lyrics and the Green Day flashbacks were very... poignant.

Obviously the Twilight clips in between weren't ideal, but first viewing, they didn't distract from what was most important in the video.

The only thing that bothered me is all this stuff using old footage seems incredibly posthumous ... I know they can't do a lot else but it even seems like they've scraped the barrel and are using footage that doesn't even fit. They didn't need live footage. Just studio stuff would have looked a lot less desperate.

Can anyone write me the lyrics?

Here:

Where in the world's the forgotten?

They're lost inside your memory

You're dragging on, your heart's been broken

As we all go down in history

Where in the world did the time go?

It's where your spirit seems to roam

Like losing faith to our abandon

Or an empty hallway from a broken home

Don't look away

From the arms of a bad dream

Don't look away

Sometimes you're better lost than to be seen

I don't feel strange, it's more like haunted

Another moment trapped in time

I can't quite put my finger on it

But it's like a child that was left behind

So where in the world's the forgotten?

Like soldiers from a long lost war

We share the scars from our abandon

And what we remember becomes folklore

Don't look away

From the arms of a bad dream

Don't look away

Sometimes you're better lost than to be seen

Don't look away

From the arms of a moment

Don't look away

From the arms of tomorrow

Don't look away

From the arms of a moment

Don't look away

From the arms of love

[guitar solo]

Don't look away

From the arms of a bad dream

Don't look away

Sometimes you're better lost than to be seen

Don't look away

From the arms of a moment

Don't look away

From the arms of tomorrow

Don't look away

From the arms of a moment

Don't look away

From the arms of love

Fuck, all of the responses in this topic are making it even harder to resist listening to it.

Who the fuck are you and what have you done with WWTS?

Eh, I'll give you that to a point. The piano chord progression and use of strings make it sound sort of like a George Harrison ballad, but it really sounds more like Green Day to me than anything else. The song that came to mind very quickly was a subdued "When It's Time".

Also, is that a potential Aska sighting around 3:35?

Eh, really really makes it overrated. I'll stick with one really. That is if I don't ever get burnt out on it, which is pretty easy to do with Green Day.

Honestly, this trilogy feels like a roller coaster ride. Not all 37 songs are going to be an A+ but this feels like a classic ending to this crazy ride.

Gonna try to limit my listens here, this will be even better in context.

So beautiful. So haunting. Ended up arriving at the very moment I needed it. Only thing keeping me sane and a little grounded with a toe or two on the ground. Painful to listen because of the intense truth but so comforting and cathartic too. It never fails to amaze me, the bravery in Billie Joe's songwriting, the sheer honesty. For someone who feels so lost, they sure deliver a whole 'nother level of deep truth.

The production and arrangement is absolutely beautiful too. I love how they managed to keep the freshness, sincerity and emotion.

Although I mildly dislike what I've seen and know of Twilight, I'm glad it's on the soundtrack, it will reach many more ears. People need to hear Green Day and Green Day deserves to be heard.

Well that was shitty. I am talking about the video. The song is freaking perfect.

I love the song! Not the video. Editing was poor, the studio clips were great, the band recording the song but the live clips were not needed, in my opinion.

What I feel about the song? I can say that after I have heard it more times. :P

Song is meh. Very Beatles-esque, and I don't like The Beatles, so....

I like the solo though.

People have been saying their next album was the last of their career since before Warning.

Hey, I don't like The Beatles either, easily one of the most overrated bands every.

That said, this is one of the finest songs Billie Joe has ever written.

Just when you think he'll never top something like Jesus Of Suburbia, he comes along and shits out this masterpiece.
