SamMacs Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Listen to it right now and I like it a lot more than the studio version, this one is so full of energy
Guest Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I'll listen to this in a bit, thanks for the link
EJN Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Actually Converse, all of the people at the show that can be heard cheering have heard this song. Pretty good cut! This song is reallt cool live
KGLWW Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I think the performance is great, and I love the song when listening to the whole album, but I do feel like this song has an identity crisis. I mean it is a ballad or is it a punk song? I thought it was a horrible choice for the first single. And the thing is I don't really know what would have been better. Maybe Stay the Night but it would have gotten old hearing it over and over again most likely. I get that Green Day was kinda going back to their ballads from 39 Smooth, like Why do want him, stuff like that was a ballad punk song but in and of itself Oh Love is just alright. Maybe a little mediocre. Great songs stand by themselves, and songs since 21st Century Breakdown get old fast. Don't get me wrong I love listening to the whole album all the way through, but does anyone still listen to Know your Enemy or EJN or even 21 Guns by itself anymore? Maybe Before the Lobotomy and 21CB are okay by themselves. But 39 Smooth to American Idiot you could pickup anywhere on those albums and really enjoy it. I don't know if it's that they are more pop or rock now and less punk. They just don't quite seem the same to me. Uno! has a some good songs, a lot of good songs. But I find myself skipping Kill the DJ and Stay the Night even more now to get to Let yourself go and Fell For you till the end. I don't know just an observation. I know every band ages and runs out of great singles to write, but I just expected a little more you know being that they are green day. Not they they are even close to being bad or anything. Just expect a lot from one of my favorite bands.
Annie, get your gun Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Thanks for post! I'm downloading right now... but I thought it would be like a demo or something. Anyway, pretty cool from Converse!
westendriot Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I love it, thanks! Anyone know what show this is from? Is it Irving Plaza?
BillieJoe1972 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I downloaded it a little while ago. It sounds great!! I can't wait to experience this song live!! Thanks for the post!!
Todd Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 This is Irving Plaza, compared it to a live video on youtube. It's also track 14 of Uno for me, after Let Yourself Go from Red 7
Ritz Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 OMG this is so better and awesome. The faster tempo makes it sound really good!
DannyDirnt Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Sounds much faster and better than the studio version. Like, it totally kicks the studio version's ass.
Zelda Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm surprised this hasn't been heard before...surely someone in that crowd would have recorded it.
LazyPhil Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 I think it was recorded at Irving Plaza, I compared the track and the video on youtube and to me they sound EXACTLY the same.
mbk Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 This is so much better than the studio version, which had left me a little disappointed, espcially since ofr a first single I would expect the band to put their best foot forward. I didn't really know how I felt about Uno as a whole when it came out, but I'm loving it more and more with every listen. It's good to get different perspectives on the songs, like this live version does for Oh Love.
Marrymebilliejoe Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 This version is great! (: Green Day is just too good live (;
Amber. Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 This was a really good version! However, I'm disappointed Billie didn't sing through the high notes; the little " falling in love with you~ "
