cj_unoxx Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Hey guys, I love Green Day (obviously) and Three Days Grace is my other favorite band and they're releasing a new album called Transit of Venus (10/2/12) and they've been doing the same thing Green Day has like posting clips of songs or of them in the studio and other trailer stuff and yesterday they even streamed they're new album a week before its released just like ¡Uno! They even said it the same: "listen to Transit of Venus a week before its released!" I dunno it doesn't bother me I just noticed it and wanted to see if you guys had anything to add.
Harinezumi Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 That's what bands do. (edit. I mean advertising, so it's nothing new)
Maddy. Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 A lot of bands stream stuff and give previews, man. Not everything Green Day does is innovative and authentic.
SynthwaveTrooper Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 O.o many bands have been doing this for years, it is common.

There are plenty of bands that post video updates of themselves in the studio, it's a good way to keep your fans informed on your recording process. Granted, I get slightly more excited when Green Day does theirs being that they're my personal favorite band, but it's not uncommon
Hermione Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Loads of artists have promoted their albums using the methods you've listed there before, Green Day didn't invent any of them. They're just doing what any normal band does to promote their album. So there's really not anything to discuss here other than having a load of people point out the same thing, therefore I'll close this.
