Justin Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Well that explains why they were late on stage in London then
Alan86 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Worst band they've played with "Bon Jovi" I was so happy to see that cause I saw Bon Jovi a few years back and they were terrible. ~ Walking Contradiction Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 "We don't know if we'll bring people up to play guitar every show anymore" nooo, it's one of my favourite parts of their concerts
PaulS Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Like Justin said, it's interesting to hear about Shepherds Bush. It's hard to believe they'd delay things because they were having a fight, but he does phrase it as "...right before we were about to go onstage", so it's entirely possible. Really weird to think about in retrospect now!
blitzkriegdeb Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Pretty funny they got put "in the hole" during the 21stCB tour The production was fucking amazing though
Hermione Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Excellent stuff! Thanks for posting the scans. Well if that's why we ended up with the epic Tre opening I'm glad he had a strop!
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Lol I wonder if that's really what the 'sound check' thing was xD

Undómiel Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I laughed when I saw that. Just imagining Billie Joe telling them stroppily that he didn't want to open the show for once, Tre grabbing the guitar and saying "Fuck you then, you girl!" ...
Heather. Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 What does Billie mean when he said on the 21CB tour they found themselves "in the hole" with production/punk values and stuff? I don't understand that sentence at all. What is he referring to?

It does occasionally happen - I believe Lady Gaga said the same thing a year or two ago, although she obviously has much higher costs than Green Day do (and ticket prices to match!).
Heather. Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 So straight up does that actually mean they personally made nothing from the tour, or they just put some companies that sponsored them into debt? I'm trying to picture it.

See personally id think they would want to resolve things if its a minor fight like "personal stuff" before going on stage as it would probably ruin the aspect of things. So i guess they just spoke things through or whatever. I did find it interesting however that when they said "sound check" that night we didnt actually hear anything. Usually you can hear bands soundchecking from quite a distance, not to mention we were stood outside the door where it would be obvious to hear.

See we thought we did hear sound check, but it was before they even arrived. So either they snuck out the back and then came back later or ... I don't really know xD
tvrman Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Sad he was disappointed with Brian Wilson, as a few (hmm make that 10+) years ago I met Brian backstage in LA and found him incredibly charming. It was great to thank him for giving the world God Only Knows. I laughed at the pre SBE diva comment especially when you consider the opening with Tre and the performance that night,... or was it a black eye rather than a stye that Billie had at Reading ?

I don't really know xD Yeah thats what i mean, earlier in the afternoon it was audible but not again that afternoon not to mention when the security came out and said that they were late sound checking. So to me im guessing they were probably fighting from when doors were meant to be opening
