After listening to the new songs it felt like something was wrong, I thought that it could be a really amazing performance from the boys but alas when you hear Oh Love live it sounds so much worse, what do you think?

Live or studio version, the song is boring anyway.

worse? I think it sounds better, everything live sounds better to me, I don't like it when music is too polished so, I think that's why.

They seem to be using a lot of weird effects in these albums... But oh well.

The live video has a LOT of echoing which makes it sound worse, less crisp, their performance sounds great excluding that.

I think it's because of how it's recorded and the acoustics of the location, not intentional.

I'm trying to understand the OP's logic, are you upset a live version doesn't sound good (which is pretty normal) or upset that the studio version seems overproduced?

If you think the studio version have "bigger"/fatter guitars, that's because on studio version billie joe played with jason, and in live version, sometimes jason plays without billie, so it sounds little lighter than in studio version.
