VivaRomy Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 In this week's Sunday Times (19.08.2012), one of their supplement magazines called 'Culture' has a page & a half article about Green Day and their new album, with excepts of an interview with the guys. If anyone is wanting to buy it, the paper costs around £2 and is available from most newsagents etc., but I'm happy to scan the article in later today for anyone who wants to read it Edit by Andres: You can now find the scans on GDA (thanks to Holly for posting them) http://www.greendayauthority.com/articles/169/1/

Holly Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Oooh thanks, I might have to go for a walk to the shop and buy it. It'll be nice to have an article not from Kerrang.
Soroush Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I live in Iran and I don't have access to them. I'll be thankfulto have the scans
Guest Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Anything new in it? not sure if I should buy it or not then haha
Mandy_PunkRock Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 In Spain we don't have that magazine, I think. So... I will be glad if you make an scan!
Holly Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I've scanned in the article for you. Sorry it ain't great quality, they just had to make a magazine too big to fit in my scanner, didn't they.

farley drexel hatcher Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 That was a really good article, nice to hear some new quotes and to hear the meaning behind rusty James
Alan86 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 "Rusty James" sounds like it could be "Last Gang in Town" I really hope it is, I loved the sound of it from the recording at the Tiki Bar
jon18 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 "Rusty James" sounds like it could be "Last Gang in Town" I really hope it is, I loved the sound of it from the recording at the Tiki Bar You stole my post! With Stay The Night, Sweet 16 and Rusty James (aka Last Gang in Town), Uno will be fantastic.
Alan86 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 You stole my post! With Stay The Night, Sweet 16 and Rusty James (aka Last Gang in Town), Uno will be fantastic. Yeah, I have absolutely no fear at all about UNO. Its going to be great.
Glynnis Stevenson Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'm so excited! Also I love all these new photos
gmcloughlin Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I went looking for this today in the local newsagents, but they were all out Thanks for posting the scans
emenius Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Thanks for the heads up on this article. I know I've been beaten to it, but think this confirms Rusty James is Last Gang in Town. Guess we should be getting the first reviews of UNO in a couple of weeks with monthly music magazines.
Heather. Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I'm so pumped to hear Rusty James is (most likely) Last Gang in Town. That song was awesome! Also knowing that Dos opens with a "lost Simon & Garfunkel track" is already music to my ears. I love tittilating descriptions of unreleased songs.
emenius Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Makes me think that the song lists from the secret show suggesting that Dos opens with Fuck Time might not be accurate. I'm a big Simon & Garfunkel fan, and can't see any of their songs ever being compared to Fuck Time!

I'm a big Simon & Garfunkel fan, and can't see any of their songs ever being compared to Fuck Time! We had heard that "See You Tonight" might be the Dos opener. Sounds more like something that would fit the description. The secret show set lists look like they might be accurate, but there were only 36 songs on there, not including "See You Tonight." Methinks that's #37 and also the song in question and for some weird reason was left off those lists...

Heather. Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 The article also mentions the "extraordinary" Dirty Rotten Bastards, which I believe is the song Rob Cavallo compared to Jesus of Suburbia. Consider me blindly excited for that thing.
Clayish Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Ah, I knew Rusty James was named after Rumble Fish. My favorite book.. Green Day is the best. Edit: called that shit Posted 26 June 2012 - 01:40 PM Pedestrian Rusty James is probably a reference to the book/film Rumble Fish. Great character.
