21stCenturyInsomniac Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I've never seen Green Day live unfortunately but I'm somewhat aware of what they've played over course of the past few tours. What songs are you people hoping to hear - from any era of the bands existence - and which songs do you expect they'll drop from prior tours? I'm hoping that we get some Insomniac material to fit in with some of the faster-sounding stuff on this album(s) like Let Yourself Go. Armatage Shanks and Bab's Uvala Who would be awesome to hear live. Some Warning material like Blood, Sex and Booze or Misery would be cool too, as I can detect some elements of that album in Kill the DJ (that may just be me though). In all I'm just hoping/expecting for a tour which showcases a diverse range of material from the band's back catalogue, more so than on previous tours. As well as a fair amount of new material too of course! Hopefully about 4-6 songs (at least) from each of the new albums at each show. Long setlists hopefully.
BradGreenDay Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I Would like them to play alot of older songs like 2000 lightyears away or my generation But they play alot of the new stuff off the trilogy. The concerts would have to be like 3 hours long though
TheGreenDayKidd Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 Well if I'm not wrong there is pretty much the same thread: http://www.greendaycommunity.org/topic/89377-general-setlist-talk/page__hl__%20tour%20%20setlist But anyway I would like to hear some old stuff (or actually something the same as they played in last Europe tour) and ofcourse like 5 or 6 songs from Triology.
Quido Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 They played around 3-4 hours long during the 21CB era, I would love too see Paper Lanterns live, but also rare tracks like Dry Ice and Private Ale. Well and ofc new material from the upcoming trilogy
jtdscape Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 They played around 3-4 hours long during the 21CB era, I would love too see Paper Lanterns live, but also rare tracks like Dry Ice and Private Ale. Well and ofc new material from the upcoming trilogy I dont think they've ever played a 4 hour show. Most shows last tour were around 2.5 - 3 hours.
Clayish Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 They need to add more classics into the regular. Pasalacqua, Holden Caulfield, F.O.D., Burnout, 86, Stuart and the Ave.
anniewoo Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 anything from Nimrod... never heard/seen Haushinka for all the years i've been following them. Tracks they don't normally play off Insomniac and dookie as well please!
StuckWithRob Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I would like them to play Kerplunk, Dookie then Insomniac in full, then take requests of their other stuff. I am aware this is unlikely to happen!
Vic_Rattlehead Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I would love to see some stuff from Shenanigans live, I don't think they've ever played it
anniewoo Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 CASTAWAY! <3 this would be good. only heard this once before!
21stCenturyInsomniac Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 Anything from Warning would be nice that isn't one of the singles lol
burnout409 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Stuck With Me, Reject, Jackass, Having a Blast, Paper Lanterns, Dry Ice, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield, Christie Road, One Of My Lies ... to name a few (and obviously new songs!)
holyshitaflyingbanna Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'd like to see allot of stuff from Nimrod and Kerplunk as well as stuff from Shenanigans which they have never done (they only played like 30 seconds of Outsider once)
GreenDayisAmazing Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I would like to see so many songs! F.O.D, Shoplifter, Prosthetic Head, I would love to see Tre’ sing Dominated Love Slave, Coming Clean, Poprocks and Coke, Favorite Son, Warning, Too Much Too Soon, and way too much more to list. All the stuff they already play like Longview, Basket Case, American Idiot and more. Ohh and the Uno singles too!
Todd Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I Was There Well, I'm not sure, but I don't think they like that song very much cause it's a John song and they hate him.
Pixus Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Um for me they should play all the songs Well, mostly from 39, Kerplunk, Warning and Nimrod.
Justin Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Well, I'm not sure, but I don't think they like that song very much cause it's a John song and they hate him. Pretty sure they played it at one of the last shows on the 21CB tour, in south america... i want to say Costa Rica
Sam.. Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I'd really like to see Holden Caulfield especially. I really love their regular setlist from the 21CB tour and it looks like it might not change much. Ultimate fantasy would be Cigarettes & Valentines but I won't get my hopes up haha.
July21 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I dont think they've ever played a 4 hour show. Most shows last tour were around 2.5 - 3 hours. they played 43 songs in costa rica back in 2010. so i'm pretty sure there was at least one 4 hour show.. well, probably the only one! Pretty sure they played it at one of the last shows on the 21CB tour, in south america... i want to say Costa Rica indeed! the setlist was insane, they played a bunch of old songs as they've never played deadbeat holiday, I'd love to hear that song live! it's really about time!
