momoluvGD Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Christina Aguilera announced that Billie Joe helped her and was a big influence for heron her new record. The radio host asked her if Billie Joe will be making an appereance on her new album, she replied (may not be exact quote) "All I can say is he was a big help and big influence ever since we began working together on The Voice." I believe it was announced on Rolling Stone, this may work too, http://www.hypable.com/2012/08/14/christina-aguilera-talks-billie-joe-armstrong-new-album/ I heard it from an interview that she had on a local Florida radio station. They usually don't record their interviews, unfortunately. I don't remember what station, but I'm looking around. I think I'm late on this....
The Forgotten Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm horrified of the idea of him featuring in the song...
momoluvGD Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 I'm horrified of the idea of him featuring in the song... Me too. Unless she changed her entire music genre. Still...no.... I love your sig by the way!
Sarcasm Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm horrified of the idea of him featuring in the song... Why? It would seem kind of hypocritical to not let one of your icons do whatever he sees fit do do with his own life. I'm only disappointed that it was Aguilera before Gaga Cause Gaga is the shizzle<3
momoluvGD Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 your avatar makes me sad. Lol. Then vote me for worst avatar GDC awards 2012! xD I'm not quite sure how to reply to that....
Sarcasm Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 your avatar makes me sad. your avatar makes me wanna take a bath. In a good way, though.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 your avatar makes me wanna take a bath. In a good way, though. ... oh right haha my comment was directed at the topic starter though XD
Mar Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm only disappointed that it was Aguilera before Gaga Cause Gaga is the shizzle<3 I'm a littler burnt out on her, but I would have loved a Gaga collab, for sure. I just can't see Christina working with him, only because her background is much more pop and R&B than Gaga's, which does have a little bit more rock and theatricality in it. Maybe he'll make me like Christina again, though!
Annie, get your gun Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Okay... I guess I didn't actually expect it was true.

I'm only disappointed that it was Aguilera before Gaga Cause Gaga is the shizzle<3 how do you know he's one of my icons? Maybe I'm just some out of the blue fan girl from the 21 Guns era who hastily made an account here because of his hair!
The Snark Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 This news actually makes me happier than him being on The Voice. I'm all for artists going in new directions and can't wait to hear how he has affected her sound. At least it couldn't be any worse than 'Moves Like Jagger'.

momoluvGD Posted August 16, 2012 Author Posted August 16, 2012 I don't know how I feel about it. I agree, I would have rather seen Gaga...but I don't even know if they did record, I know for sure he helped and influenced, but still, I doubt they are on an album together. But maybe not.?
Anja Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 From the quote, it doesnt exactly sound like he's featured on the record but more like that he as a person has influenced her writing or whatever. So I believe. I would love to collaborate them though. Would be interesting to see how their voices work together.
Heather. Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I don't think she meant he really legit "helped" her with the record or production or anything. Based on other things she's saying, I think she just meant that they've been talking a lot and maybe his attitude helped her approach her record. Therefore, I don't think this is news
Hermione Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Cool! I really like Christina and have a couple of her albums, if Billie's been an influence on her new one I'll be very interested to hear it.
Tabeeb Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I never really cared to much for Christina but oh well, at least Billie's making friends
WalkingContradictionPL Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I hope there would be any collaboration. I've never liked her, even when I was listetning to a lot of pop. Ok, maybe not her, but her voice.
gdpony Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Christina has an amazing voice, very talented. Too bad her music sucks. Hopefully this won't happen. But Slash collaborated with Paulina Rubio, so anything's possible -_-
Fuzz Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Hmm ... yeah, I don't think he actually helped her with the album. This does sound more like "he was inspiring to work with." I mean if her album is already getting ready to come out, she's been working on it for months. I found an article from April where she was working on it. Her and Billie Joe just teamed up last month. I really don't think he had a lot of time to give input on the album as they were putting the finishing touches on their own album.
Silent Duck Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I bet he gave her an idea for her next music video.
WestboundSign! Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Well, I think it's nice that he's helping her. I'm not really looking forward to a collaboration or anything, but it didn't sound as if he would actually be featured on the album. So I'm fine with it!
