spark in the night
Thankfully this is the first music video and eventually everyone will forget about it. Like I don't even remember the Know Your Enemy video.
Heather!
Again, going back to the Holiday video, THAT was exaggerated. This wasn't. I liked what Bayer did with that video. Yes! oh man, I love the Holiday video. along with American Idiot it's probably my favourite. but after BOBD I really don't like anything Sam Bayer did at all, so I was already nervous about the Oh Love video before it came out (and then I heard that there were a bunch of women in minimal clothing--queue the side-eyeing) and unfortunately it turned out to be exactly what I feared. WrongWayToSalvation
Their was no oppression what so ever in this video! The women are acting, they are in a scene depicted as a rock n roll party with booze, Rock N Roll and women. Scenes like this happen in real life and im sure people enjoy it, i know i would, a Rock N Roll is a life style i would love, so if you don't agree then fine. You'd want to be a coke addict/alcoholic fucking random girls and contracting Hep C?
RokketQueen
The video brought to mind big hair bands of the 80's type videos. I could totally imagine bands like Warrent, Ratt, Motley Crue and such, in place of Green Day in this video. After viewing the video, I came away feeling 'been there, done that'....in short, I wasn't real impressed. I like the song though, so there is still that
Hermione
I guess I could see them as exaggerated versions of themselves, but to me the whole tone of the video seemed so casual that I didn't get the feeling of them playing characters at all. I dunno, I see them as characters (not least because I know they don't really act like that backstage ). I can't imagine they'd seriously want to pretend and fool people into thinking they live a lifestyle like that when clearly in real life they're married etc and don't live that way even though they easily could if they wanted to. I just think they're all acting out a pretend rock and roll scene to go with the song. And I think the only reason it comes off as more casual is because they didn't execute the idea particularly well. They should've made it more eventful and interesting. Android Jesus
I'm happy I'm not the only one who did't like those girls on the video. But I couldn't watch it yet. You know, slow internet crashes live stream, videos blocked by region and more of that shit. Story of my life The same story of my life
InsideOut
The video was boring. The girls were fine with me, but there didn't have to be THAT many shots of them. More shots of the band would have been nice. The guys looked very good though. Anyways, I've never been the type to watch a music video more than once or twice (even if it's really good) so I don't mind. I'm wondering about the motorcycle shots Mike was talking about and that chipmunk costume we saw pictures of? Will those be in another video? That interview was great! It was funny and the guys looked comfortable. It felt a lot more fun and relaxing than some of the interviews they did while promoting 21st CB, which is what I was hoping for! WrongWayToSalvation
The interviewer said that he liked "Troublemaker" it gets me excited We still haven't heard a THING (and I mean absolutely nothing) about Angel Blue or Rusty James. The only two songs off !UNO! that haven't even been described or even mentioned.
burnout409
You'd want to be a coke addict/alcoholic fucking random girls and contracting Hep C? when did i say that? Seriously not quiet sure where you got that! If your referring to me wanting a Rock N Roll life style , then are you saying that you think all Rock Musicians end up like that after living a Rock N Roll lifestyle, what about Green Day? are they at all like that? Their are many many many different Rock N Roll Musicians who are nothing like that.
Vespertine
The video its self may not have been dangerous or exiting, but it depicts a rock n roll scene, which can be depicted as Fun, Exiting and dangerous, that's what rock n roll is in part edit: nevermind. You said it yourself. Sex, drugs, violence etc.
Four.
The great thing about the video is that Tré looks mighty fine. Also, Billie's shoes in the interview. Prisca
I got a minute into the video and then just stopped it. Boring video, and "Oh Love" didn't really help out either, haven't been too keen on the song. Kill The DJ, however, is in a whole different ballpark! Hermione
I thought the "Why you don't age?" question was epic. Also I enjoyed how the interviewer felt it was extremely important to list every VMA award they'd won. And how when he asked how the band stays together Billie was so eager to say "Keep the fights clean and the sex dirty" for the millionth time that he couldn't even get the words out right

Sex, drugs, violence etc. I do believe you have misquoted me, i never said violence! And yeah Green Day did some hardcore drugs, but they aren't addicts are they, i'm sure they had fun and learn't and yeah probably made mistakes, but you learn from mistakes so as long as its not gonna put you in a particularly bad situation then you can recover and come out smarter and stronger! People can enjoy Drugs, i can say i have for one and i know many other who can say the same, of course things can go bad and end badly obviously, people just have to know their limits etc and then it can be fun. Rock N Roll isn't always going to end badly. part of the excitement is the danger and the thrill etc.

This doesn't even have to do with the Oh Love video anymore and I'm obviously not getting through to you so whatever.
Trina
Oh for fuck sake. I should not bother getting into this but I just can't bite my tongue (fingers?!)! It is so pathetic to see so many people bashing the video just because there's hot women dancing/having a good time in it. Just because a woman wears make-up/is hot/dresses "provocatively"/dances/acts sexy does not mean you have the right to call her a skank. What even is a whore, what is a slut, what is a skank, what is sleazy?! It's all entirely subjective and just shitty terms to put down a woman, even for things a man can do with no criticism. Women are put down enough without this shit, seriously. SO many Green Day fans seem to have a problem with ANY hot woman and it's because it makes them uncomfortable because it makes them feel ugly, insecure and jealous. TOO BAD. That's your own shit to work out, not theirs. It's all so embarrassingly obvious. Seriously can someone tell me logically what's wrong with a woman looking hot or dancing? No? Ok. Oh Jesus, and to say it's exploitative or objectifying is so fucking ridiculous. MOST PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO OTHER PEOPLE SEXUALLY AND AESTHETICALLY. DEAL WITH IT. Sex is not bad or disgusting or evil. You guys sound like The Pope or something, c'mon! This is a natural part of life. There's nothing wrong with wanting to make yourself look more attractive, it's a personal choice. There is just absolutely nothing wrong with this video morally. Women should be allowed to wear as little or as much clothing and make up as they like and act as un-sexily or sexily as they like without fucking criticism. So women aren't allowed to do these things without them being called "objectified"?! They can do what they fucking want, jeez. Sick of people governing what women should and shouldn't do and how to dress, especially under a veil of feminism. Fuck off! P.S. - Taking care of your appearance is not shallow. Jeez and I thought I had low self-esteem... At least I can watch this video and enjoy another woman's beauty. Maybe I'll feel insecure but I wont take it out on them, fuck sake!! Welp. Anyways, does the girl with the purple hair have a tattoo of Sid Vicious on her thigh or am I imagining things? Oh, I love Tre's jacket in the interview part and also I wonder did they fill some live stuff too that they'll show at a later date. Hmm, the girl at the start, giving the eyes reminds me of Kate Moss a little! Filling the whole thing with some good parts then some complete shit and shameless self promotion! Uh, isn't that what music videos are for? So where is the R rated video? There were a few shots where the girls looked to be topless but it was blocked....I'm guessing that will be the difference. Although I'm hoping it's more different than that. I think that may have just been of a girls back whose wearing a backless top although I do assume some will be topless in the other version. It seems to me that the "hot" girls are just there to attract the audience. I know they were kinda representing the whole "tonight my heart's on the loose", but other men and even not so hot and tattooed girls could be representing this as well. And I've never really liked the attitude "so, I'm a big rockstar, I can have any hot girls I want and I'll be in an orgy with them tonight", and I get it a little from the video. They were hardly gonna put ugly people in now were they? I do remember a guy saying on twitter he got cast so I suppose he must be in the Kill The DJ video instead unless they changed direction and didn't need him anymore. Many of the girls had tattoos in it btw... Also the band barely interacts with the girls. So, no. (Maybe the girls will have an orgy though...) I agree. They should have been more "green day" type girls. Not just random blande blonde model-types. Maybe there's a deeper meaning behind it, but maybe they're just going to be topless in the R rated one. Beauty is subjective. They had many "types" of girls, although I do think it's pretty shitty to categorize girls into "types" but anyways. Who calls the shots on what a Green Day type girl is so?! Can hot women not be GD girls? Can blondes not be GD girls? Can girls who wear make-up or according to some who dress provactively not be GD girls?! Come on! Green Day has a HUGE fanship all across the world with such a diverse following. It's frankly insulting to suggest they have one "type" of girl, also it'd be pretty lame and embarrassing if they did just have this video full of wannabe punks and emo kids (JOS!). What's wrong with model-types? Makes sense to me to cast them. A lot of those girls are both actresses and models - perfect fit for this job. Anja
I'm sorry, but Kill The DJ isn't "plain vanilla radio stuff". Name a single song on the radio that has the same vibe as that song. Just because it isn't fast 3 chord power chords doesn't make it generic. That's just my opinion now. I know it's a different direction GD is going to with this one so it needs to grow on me. But right now, I just can't help but find the song unexciting.
