I understand all you girls feeling that the guys are cheating on you but get over it :P

I can't wait to see it!It's a concept they haven't done again and that's how they view the song...Now why you all feel offended I can't understand. Most of you are old enough to do those things too and the guys are rich and good looking don't you think they have had enough sex in their lifes?

When Billie talked about being inspired by sexual tension you all got horny and said "Yeah Sexual Tension!"Now that you see a video like this you feel embarrassed for something that is completely normal.

I guess you'd all prefer a video of them just performing in a room

Ugh, I was just telling my friends a few days ago how I hate how some artists use sexy women to make their video more popular. I always thought that those woman in the Holiday video were some kind of protest against that, because those look like they went through hell.

I'm going to hope that this all has a twist, but I'm kind of worried.

Btw; most of these models that we know were in the video also pose naked. I sure hope the rated R video isn't going to be the same video with those girls being topless. Not in a Green Day video.

Ugh no way is it about that. Such a male response! I was actually done commenting in this but had to respond up that xD

Interesting. After reading the posts in this thread I've decided not to watch those interviews with small clips of the music video. I'll wait with giving my own opinion until I've seen the whole video. From what I've read though I think the video will fit with the song (or at least with one interpretation of it). You know, the whole sexual tension/romance thing and whatnot. I've recently thought of the song as Oh "Love", with love being used as.. something annoying. Yeah I can't really put into words what I want to say, but like love is not something that's wanted (yet). Instead the song is about having fun, no strings attached etc. Well anyway.. That is not my interpretation, just another way you could look at the song. So it could make sense with the video. We'll see what it looks like. I hope MTV will play actual music again!

That was an unnecessary remark. ಠ_ಠ Also degrading and based on nothing.

also I don't think anyone's offended, nor is anyone embarrassed.

Surprise! Girls are individuals, not one big collective saying what you are assuming they're saying.

Exactly, haha. No-one said they felt offended or cheated on, they just don't like the concept in the same way that others do like the concept. Stereotyping girls like that is offensive and most of us aren't even like that.

But I'll just back off now because this argument is always completely pointless, it's impossible to get Green Day fans to accept each other's differing opinions. :P

I sincerely hope that isn't indicative of what actually happens backstage at GD shows.

it isn't. I read an interview with Bob Gruen, who have been to maaaaaaaaaaany Green Day shows.. and he said Green Day is a band who mostly have family and friends backstage, nothing else.

I feel exactly the same as everyone else, but I guess the video isn't forced to fit with the song, like WMUWSE is about Billie's dad but the video is about war.

Y'know... remember Bullet In A Bible? Everytime I watch it it nearly breaks my heart seeing him so close to tears and in some moments so hard struggling not to cry (And it's kinda disturbing to see Tré THAT serious ;) ). It's easy to imagine he didn't want to make a video about it, neither appear in it, and they don't and I'm completely fine with it.

Am I the only one, who likes the preview? :D :D :D You should not judge about this clip, until you have not seen the whole video...

It definitely isn't. But why would it be? This is a music video, a visual representation of or accompaniment to a song. It represents the lyrics and feel of the song, not the band in their real life. Anything they do in this video is just acting.

i think i.. and everyone else.. needs to calm down a bit about this. maybe we shouldnt judge too fast, and as Hermione said, this doesnt represent the band in their real life

People are definitely overreacting a little, although I understand the sentiment.

Clip shows will always focus on this kind of content, so you may find the full video is far more band than it is random women. Moreover, the shooting style here doesn't seem especially exploitative or raunchy: he mostly seems to be panning across them lazing around, as if they're backstage getting ready for a show (at a strip club, admittedly). There isn't really anything in the MTV clip to suggest they're going to be pulled straight from a Rhianna video to give the band lap-dances.

Really, the video treatment looks more lazy than it is sexy. Either way, we should wait for the full thing, and - crucially - remember that Green Day are their music, not a director's interpretation of it.

It's the first time when I'm not excited with something related to the trilogy. I even can say that I don't like it. I know, I saw only short parts of the video and MTV could choose only the hottest parts to attract people's attention. It's clear for me that guys have now middle-life crisis. They could do what they want. But it's only music video. I won't say on Wednesday that I stop love Green Day because for me music is the most important. Maybe I will watch the video only once or two and never come back to it, but that is not important for me. They changed me and my life. If they want almost naked women in video, ok. It's disgusting for me and I'm scared of other videos but it won't change my feelings connected with music. To tell the truth I'm not a big fan of all music videos of anyone. I just enjoy music, sounds. Videos are only something like supply.

And I'm sure that all male fans will like it.

Hmm, I won't give any opinion until I see a whole video.

But, from what I read so far, I mean what you guys have posted, I just hope that video won't ruin my impression for a song..

Is it just me, or is it all the girls who seem to unlike this!?!? Well, Im pretty sure it isnt that bad, i mean, how bad can it be? It aint on a pornsite, and its a music video. It cant be that bad..

No matter how it is, dirty or not, ill like it!!! :D

Pretty lame and unnecessary to say "all the girls dislike it" or "all the boys like it". I'm a girl and I like it thanks, why can't everyone just have their opinion without generalizations being made?

Because there are so many complaining already I hope that the guys and girls leave nothing to the imagination and the video is like a "sex party" with 100% "blood pumping sex"

They have been hinting at this for months and everybody was laughing at the the idea of a sex party at a concert.

These records have always had a "dirty/fun feel" about them. The song titles alone have a fun/dirty feel.

I have no problems with the video - if they are rolling with girls who cares really ? They are green day .... They do whatever the fuck they want :D the video is basically their lives if they were like single , rich and massive rock and roll band and we all know there will be girls backstage . Am I the only one that totally gets what they are doing ?

They're a little more than three times my age, it would be just fucking weird if I, or anyone near my age, was jealous of those stripper-actors. I just think this isn't what Oh Love represents. So, if this whole thing's gonna be like the sneak peak, then what the hell were they thinking when brain storming ideas for the video?! I think I can speak for the majority that we're just worried in what direction they're going.

Green Day and smokin' hot rock 'n roll girls = WORKS FOR ME! I liked the preview, can't wait so see the whole thing :)

From that preview it looks like they've done that video pretty "classy" way, not like tasteless hip-hop videos where there's just girls with big titties shaking their moneymakers. I'm really not worried about their "direction". This is all new era for the band and of course for the fans, they wanna try new things. I think when they're already pulling out three albums, they really got nothing to lose. They don't need to proof anything, they're already one of the biggest rock acts of the world. Billie said that the song has sexual vibe on it, this kind of video really fits in it. Also this is their video, Sam Bayer is the director and got the first idea and the band agreed with him so yes, this is the way they see this song and how they want to represent it for the fans and other viewers.
