25€ is really cheap for 8 albums. Depending on the packaging I might buy it, since my albums aren't in great condition...

Yeah I posted this a few days ago in the random news thread:

Well look at that: Link

Release date: August 31st. "Green Day: the studio albums 1990-2009".

Imagine being someone who discovers Green Day by hearing Oh Love or anything from Uno/Dos/Tré on the radio/tv. You wonder: hmmm, I like this song, I wonder if Green Day has more albums.

And there you go, you buy this and you have all the studio albums all in one box! Not to mention it's very cheap too. 8 CDs for under €30. I paid 10 euros less for just 21CB..

I wonder what it looks like. Probably one big box with cds (instead of maybe one of those cardboard things like they used for Stop drol and roll...)

Oops totally missed that :D

I think its one big cardbox with 8 slimline cases. like the Single boxset from 1998-1999.

I watched this box set. There's not sth new, however this is a good chance for fans who want all the studio albums.

By the way, I watched all the studio albums from dookie to Uno which will be released as limited editions in amazon and cdjapan. Check:

Damn this is going to be an expensive year for collectors.. shit! Limited edition in cardboard sleeve - Thanks for sharing :D

The 21CB/AI box set is pretty useless if you're getting the complete collection anyway..

I saw in a different thread that all the albums were being re released in japan as mini lp, cds in the cardboard sleeves like stop drop and roll. Could this have them all in sleeves like that?

Looks like insomniac beat me to it. Great

  • 2 weeks later...

From greenday.com:

CL4I4.jpg

"Lost your copy of 'Insomniac'? Can¹t find 'American Idiot'? Then snap up this neat CD boxset 'The Studio Albums 1990-2009', which features all of Green Day¹s albums from their debut '1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours' right up to '21st Century Breakdown'! Released on August 27th everywhere else except for the US, pre-order your copy now from all decent retailers! And get it in the US at Best Buy on September 4th!"

Since these are cd sleeves (is that what you call it?) I wonder if this box set will include lyrics/the booklets at all?

I'd buy this if I saw it in a shop cause some of my CDs have been scratched and start skipping on some songs. I wouldn't buy it online though.

This is for the people in the United States.

http://live105.cbslo...ective-box-set/

I might get this since my other CDs have scratches on them. The article described the box set like this, "Available exclusively at Best Buy, the set will feature each album in individual sleeves (complete with original cover art) all stored in a clamshell box." I just looked on the Best Buy site and don't see it listed yet.

I don't know how to get rid of that white in the quotation marks. I just copied and pasted it from the article. LOL

I'm getting it because it's awesome, and I'll have backups if my CDs get scratched.

Hope it doesn't cost too much though. :P

My AI CD is too scratched to play anything after Extraordinary Girl.

And I bet theres enough room to shove stop drop and roll in that box.

I'm definitely going to try and get this! :o but I have to wait until it's available in the US!

€25?! That's so cheap. Here you can get one new CD for €20... and if I were to re-buy everything now I'd definitely pay €100 or so.

Not gonna get it because I already have all the CDs and feel no need for this, but it's a pretty neat deal if you miss two or more CDs.

Does anyone know if the CDs are remastered? Otherwise I don't see the point of buying it since I already have everything. I'd be willing to buy it just to have remastered versions of Dookie and Insomniac.

I'm surprised it's so cheap. It is actually cheaper for me to buy the box set of 8 than just the first two, which I need.

Nope.

But great deal! Only 21 pounds on Amazon UK! :o
