Sarcasm
Has anyone noticed that the font used for Green Day on the Oh Love single cover is almost identical to the one on the American Idiot album cover? I did, except the AI font is torn and tattered, and this is smooth. It's a cool font, I'm realy glad they didn't use a really fucked up font, like some metal bands use where you don't understand what the fuck it even says even though you know what it should say. WalkingContradictionPL
Today my mother yelled at me when I turned the song off in the middle (I was just toying with my iPhone) I was about to leave, but she wouldn't let me until the song was over. The moms, they love it! My mom didn't say she doesn't like it and it sounds like howl, so it's ok. I didn't expect her amazement. She doesn't like rock music. I expect more from my dad, but I sent him Oh Love but he hasn't assessed it yet. I think he will like it cos he loves the Beatles.
Sixtrix
Yes, I've seen worse, but that logo is GD's worst. Care to guess what this is? Well it clearly says "Lurker of Chalice" No but seriously, what the hell is that logo's deal. It looks like some kind of maze on expert level. Comrade
I just didn't listen to the song for two days then just had it on full blast. It made my heart beat faster. Personally my favourite moment musically and lyric happen to be the same bit; "talk myself out of falling in love." Yet again another Green Day lyric that touches me deeply. I've done just that in the past. That little falsetto moment...I don't know why I love that, but it just makes sense to my ears. Then having the solo kick in. It's nice. I'd be happier with it just going straight into 'far away' off the solo though. The song is still way too long.
Bastard of 1967
Personally my favourite moment musically and lyric happen to be the same bit; "talk myself out of falling in love." Cool. For me it's the chorus. Such short phrases connected together are making a thing of beauty right there, setting up the problem, the solution, and the cognizance of the risk all in one (VERY dense) fell swoop. Sixtrix
My favorite moment is the entire song, how it may seem like a regular love song on first listen, but when you dig in deeper you realize it can also be the absolute opposite. Going out and not looking for love at all but going to live your life today without giving a damn about the consequences it may bring. No Rhyme Or Reason
I don't understand why so many people feel like the song is too long. For me, all of Oh Love is just so beautiful and perfect that I never want it to end! I enjoy every nanosecond of it, and once it's over, I have to press "repeat." I just never get bored of it and it always ends too soon. In general, I tend to like songs more when they're longer than being kind of short. It just seems that there's more time for the song to be fully realized, and they seem more complete. Like if a song is too short, it feels like something is missing, or like the band didn't quite communicate everything they could have or maybe wanted to. But with Oh Love, it feels complete and like they didn't cut out anything that should have stayed in. I like it being unabridged. I haven't heard Oh Love since Friday ( busy weekend), but it's still stuck in my head! Something about it is just so catchy and memorable! Oh Love might be my new very favorite Green Day song. Whatever other people think, I feel like Oh Love is a masterpiece. (Plus, my picky cousin, dad, and sister - any my mom who loves everything Green Day - all adore the song, so that's good! My cousin actually told me that it was stuck in her head all day after I showed it to her last week, and that she kept feeling the need to listen to it, haha! She's becoming a good GD fan )
Alan86
Billboard just posted this. http://www.billboard.com/news/green-day-no-doubt-make-rockin-returns-to-1007645552.story Billie Joe and co. debut at No. 1 on Rock Songs chart with "Oh Love." Green Day's "Oh Love" (Warner Bros.) storms Rock Songs at No. 1 with 13 million first-week audience impressions on 145 reporting stations. The track is just the third to open at the summit since the chart - which encompasses airplay on alternative, triple A, active rock and heritage rock stations - launched the week of June 20, 2009. It seems to be getting alot of air time for such a new track.

Elena
Today my mother yelled at me when I turned the song off in the middle (I was just toying with my iPhone) I was about to leave, but she wouldn't let me until the song was over. The moms, they love it! Y'know, that's really strange you bring that up. I was in the car with my iPod plugged in and my mom asked to hear the new Green Day single. She's not really a fan and only likes Holiday and Good Riddance but I figured I'd let her hear it. Anyway, when it was over she asked me to play it again. And again after that. I was so amazing that she actually liked something of theirs! So yep. Moms love it. This is so true! My mom and aunt both really like it! Oh Love keeps getting stuck in my mom's head. Haha, great! Funny, I have a somewhat similar story. My door was open and I was playing Oh Love so my mom could also hear it while she was in the attic. She came down, walked into my room and started singing along! It was the first time she heard it. I told her it was Green Day's new song, and the said "Oh nice! Sounds great! It reminds me of a song but Idk which one.." and she walked away, still singing along Not really of course, but apparently the chorus is so catchy that she was just doing the "far away.." thing. I was surprised. Now who said Oh Love wasn't a good first single? haha i gave my mom a self-made CD with 4 Green Day songs (and a Mr T Experience song) for her birthday and the first song on there was Oh Love and the cover was also the one of Oh Love and my mom loved all songs, but said that Oh Love is the best one ...yeah the moms love Oh Love...haha Green Day finally managed to write a song that moms love and don't hate like usually

It says this chart is only going since 2009 and its to do with airtime and listening numbers They have topped the rock charts before on official sales though
