Sorry if this has already been posted, but we have had the Big Day Out 2013 line up, allegedly "leaked" today here in Aust and GD are said to be headlining....has anyone else heard this?? It could just be something similar to the UK tour thing as it was the poster that was leaked...

I am 50% excited and 50% hoping for a proper Green Day tour later in the year, as I am due to give birth the week before the BDO!!

Any info would be great!

Just slapping a rumor tag on here. The article looks legit enough (i.e., written in good faith), but we wouldn't want Liam wetting his pants until something official is released, now would we?

I have it on good authority that BDO sucks. But this is still exciting.

It doesn't suck, just the last few years have been a pretty shit line up

I kind of hope this isn't true. I wouldn't be able to handle missing out on seeing one of my favourite bands performing just a few kilometres away from me again. It happened last year with MCR, don't want it to happen again with Green Day.

It's selfish of me to say that, but still.

Even if Green Day do play at BDO they will most likely do a proper tour later in the year

I have it on good authority that it is a hot day full of bogans.

I agree, the BDO hasn't been decent for over a decade....I am hoping on a proper tour as well but will take any opportunity to see them again..

This. Adelaide is an 8 hour drive from me, so I can't see my parents being overly enthusiastic. However, I did just tell my Dad that GD were rumored to be playing BDO and he was saying "oh that'd be pretty amazing" and "oh well, Adelaide isn't really that far away" so I guess there is hope. The other problem is, I have no one to go with, and I can't see any of my parents wanting to stand in a sweaty crowd like that for a few hours with me. It is near my birthday though, so I would have a very slight chance of conning my parents into it. Anyway, I'm getting way ahead of myself right now

EDIT: Shit, someone told me that it wasn't going to be in Melbourne next year, but it is! I only live an hour away from Melbourne, so I feel better now

I know that they're most likely to do that, but I would still want to see them perform in a festival atmosphere.

If they do this, and it's nearby, I probably wouldn't be allowed to go. I'd prefer them tour here in a proper tour. Id actually be allowed, i think. But knowing they're in the country performing is still cool. When they came to Aus for 21CB, I didn't go but it was cool that they were here. I guess well just wait and find out :)

My Dad is actually more excited about this than me  He keeps asking me if I'm going or not, and he can't seem to understand that its just a rumour at the moment. I guess this means that I'll be allowed to go if it ends up true.

What's the date of the festival?

I saw this in a tweet from Green Day Rumors. Kind of cool. It doesn't spark my interest too much though

Thanks. I haven't even looked for that link. So if I'm going to Australia in January, this would be the perfect start. We'll see.

Hmm I've never been to BDO before but I would strongly consider if true. I would've thought there would be a chance of them playing proper shows as well though right? But I don't really have any money and am saving up for a proper tour which I assumed was coming next summer....oh man.

Blink-182 is coming to Australia in February 2013 as well and i would assume that they would play big day out, and would be headlining, so i would wait until the official announcement comes out.

Like I said....I would rather a tour, and later on in the year...being selfish and saying that because my baby is due around the same time and I have no idea how I'll be feeling....I just wanted to post this as some info, I think the official announcement is on the 16 of this month so we will see then :)

Well as long as there's a proper tour later in the year, this doesn't bother me a whole lot.
