iRun Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 They did it in 2009 with 21st Century Breakdown. I wonder if they will do it with the upcoming trilogy. If they did let us stream it, would you listen to it early or wait until it is officially released?
Martyn Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Most likely. Chances are it'll leak either 2 weeks beforehand or 1. Album releases are on a Monday in the US but many countries get it before that, on the Friday before. While they're tightening up on possible leaks nowadays, i'd still see them putting up a stream a week in advance. For MCR's last album they put up a stream on the Tuesday beforehand, EU release that Friday + then US release the following monday. Can see them doing likewise I'll listen early, no reason not to!
Silent Duck Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 In my day, we had to save up our pocket money and buy an album on cassette! Leaks and streams were things you did when you went to the toilet! Kids these days! *shakes fist*
alienlifeform Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 sure, as sooon as the album leak i'll be listening it
whatshername0303 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 If the album is leaked a week earlier like 21st CB, I'll listen to it. I did it with 21CB. It's just a way to know if the album is good. But Green Day is Green Day and I will buy the album for sure after!
Malleus Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I want to say I'll wait, but I know that my inner fan girl will take over and I won't.
Zelda Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 If they do, it will take everything I have to not listen to it. I want to wait until it comes out to listen to it.
BringMoreKnives Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 Not going to listen if they did. I'll wait to have the physical cd in my hands.
Sarcasm Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 if they do I won't listen to it. what's the point? It's taking out the suspense, I'm so waiting for the album itself to get to the shelves. Cause I'm conservative, bitches.
Eva Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I have a feeling it probably will get leaked or streamed one way or another because that's just what happens nowadays. If it is leaked though, I'm going to try my hardest to not listen to it. I actually want the suspense this time, haha.
Trotsky Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 No idea, but the second it gets leaked I'm downloading the fuck out of it.
aldyofficial Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 as long as the leaked/streamed is official, i will listen to it, and of course buy the album when it's release
BJA TC MD Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I would only listen if I could hear the whole album, and not just part of it
Cris. Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I think it's possible they'll let it stream. I'd try to muster all of my self-control to keep myself from listening it. I just love the idea of going to a store, and buying the album, and rushing back home with the excitment and expectation and knowing you already have it in your hands but can't listen to it yet, and then when you get home getting it out of its case oh so carefully and hit "play" for the first time and listen while you read the lyrics from the book and appreciate the art work. I'm a romantic fool when it comes to Green Day albums, what can I say?
Android Jesus Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I'll wait for sure it's more exciting that way I think
The Grohl Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I hope so! That would be great! It would wet my appetite for new GD music and help me with my review site. Sometimes I get iffy with album previews, it's like I want to wait until the day it comes out, but not in this case!
spacesauce Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I don't think I'll even pretend to have self control this time around. It doesn't matter when I listen to it the first time--I'll buy the album regardless and it'll still be suspenseful either way. Hopefully it's streamed on something like iTunes--then it's more of a promotional tool at least.

spacesauce Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I don't even remember anymore. It could be--I actually only listened to a few select songs before the album was released so I think I missed wherever it was streamed.
tabbycat1596 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I'll restrain myself. I'll have waited seven months by then, I can stand to wait another week.
iRun Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 I would want to try and not listen to it until the CD is out. However I know I won't.
Holly Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I'd wait, well atleast I'd try to, I managed to with 21st Century Breakdown. I'd then have to hide away from the internet for a week to avoid temptation and people's reviews. Listening to it online just isn't the same as rushing out to the shops and buying the CD, unwrapping it and putting it in the stereo to hear it for the first time.
Malleus Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 I only listened to Know Your Enemy prior to 21st CB and I was pretty good at controlling myself, but I just feel like listening to these new songs whenever. If the album came out in the summer time I'd definitely wait to get it on release day but I don't want to wait until almost October to hear these new songs so fuck it.
Comic Sans Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 If they will let us stream uno a week early, I'll do it.
