bollard_11 Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 UK tour being announced between now and the 18th of July. Found this teaser floating around online with dates blurred out
Jaymee!! Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Made its own topic. Glen, you said on Facebook that Kerrang had posted this or something?
Silent Duck Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Whoever took the photo of the flyer couldn't contain their excitement and jizzed all over the tour dates.
bollard_11 Posted July 2, 2012 Author Posted July 2, 2012 Made its own topic. Glen, you said on Facebook that Kerrang had posted this or something? I was wondering there for a minute, I couldn't remember making a thread for this I found it on an Irish music forum. The guy who posted it is usually right with things like this. I asked him to confirm where its from, but I think its Kerrang. There is a big Green Day announcement being teased for the 18th of July issue of Kerrang and this could be it.
Martyn Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Day announcement being teased for the 18th of July issue of Kerrang and this could be it. Just after the new single (which is being released worldwide digitally + not just the US on the 16th apparently, asked Warner Ireland about this because Irish releases of singles/albums are usually a few days early, on the Friday before...no such luck this time! ) makes this seem VERY interesting as it would make sense.
pieterv Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 It's fake. the top is a poorly photoshopped version of the facebook banner. You can see Tre's neck on the right side is cut off because they pasted the blue background too far while cutting out the "coming …" text. Same with Mike's neck, the circles around the area where the Uno "coming" text is look jagged as well because of poor photoshopping. Edit: just to make sure I'm not spreading misinformation portraying it as fact… I think it's fake, maybe Green Day just has horrible flyer designers that don't have access to the original artwork without the text overlayed.
spacesauce Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Whoever took the photo of the flyer couldn't contain their excitement and jizzed all over the tour dates. If I had the chance of going to any of those potential UK shows that's probably what I would have done.

I'm starting to doubt the genuineness of this now.

I agree too. Plus, it's missing all the logos and such, as are normally on flyers

VERY weird! Just did some google searching, only other places i could find that image without the dates was the official Warner Ireland site. Not a pro but maybe you'd be able to tell if they're similar pics or something? If so then woah at them not having access to the original artwork without the text. edit: forgot the link : warnermusic.ie

I still am sceptical. Lets wait and see though!

farley drexel hatcher Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That's weird ... could be a mock up? Unfinished template someone leaked?
Martyn Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 That's weird ... could be a mock up? The poster? I was thinking this. Kerrang's not out for 2 weeks so probably goes to press in a week and a half or so (not sure exactly when they do) which means if this is legit it could easily not be the final version? (hence missing logos/etc) Weird though it has the same flaws as an official site, i'm believing it more now.
greendayrocksmysocksoff Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Fake. Dates wouldn't come out before the album and it doesn't have the name of the tour.
Martyn Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Fake. Dates wouldn't come out before the album. You sure? i remember heading to barcelona in 2009 with my school, pretty sure i had green day tickets before that + i downloaded the leak of 21cb for the flight over... edit: Kerrangs dates put the tour announcement pre-album release: http://www.kerrang.com/blog/2009/04/green_day_announce_october_tou.html I'm just hoping this is true even if i can't afford many of the dates right now!
jtdscape Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Fake. Dates wouldn't come out before the album and it doesn't have the name of the tour. Not true. In 2009 they announced the US tour on April 20th and the European tour on April 27th and 21st Century Breakdown didn't come out until the 15th of May. http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/1688/ http://www.greendayauthority.com/news/1697/
BringMoreKnives Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Ehh. Looks kinda fake to me....Or one of the band members did it themselves in Photoshop.
mies Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Don't know what i can believe! The thing looks fake but there are many rumours ! So it can be real! I think i will wait till greenday.com something says before i believe everything! :/
Four. Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 HOLY SHIT FUCK. If you say this guy normally is right about these things, Glen, I think we should trust him. I wonder when the dates are. If they're next summer, we were planning on visiting the UK on vacation. I'm going insane. Edit: This looks like one of the posters you would find at the end of a magazine. And to those who think it's poorly photoshopped, you can't tell that with the poor quality of the image.
gmcloughlin Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 God if this is true I'm actually going to cry with happiness Oh and whoever said they don't announce tour dates before the album comes out, they did last time. It was around 2 weeks before 21st CB came out.
Martyn Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Edit: This looks like one of the posters you would find at the end of a magazine. And to those who think it's poorly photoshopped, you can't tell that with the poor quality of the image. exactly! might even be a mock up/unfinished copy, we won't know til later. Found this topic on a forum: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/169421-green-day-uk-tour/ The admin (with 25k posts) who's usually reliable posted this: http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/169421-green-day-uk-tour/page__st__100 "Someone posted above that the new single is being launched in the middle of July, so - speculating again - it might well be the case that dates get announced at around that time. This seems a stronger speculative idea." going along with this rumour majorly...his source apparently has spoken for a few months of a Green Day UK tour being pencilled in...might be worth something. adds creditability imho.
