greekfanGD Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 With the news of Green Day's three album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tré! breaking last week, NME.com took a look back at Green Day's back catalog of eight studio albums and ranked them from best to worst. "here the link" http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=1&title=green_day_rank_the_albums&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 The CoundDown! 8/Warning 7/1039 smoothed out slappy hours 6/21st Century Breakdown 5/Kerplunk 4/American Idiot 3/Nimrod 2/Insomniac 1/Dookie
PANATHINAKOSGate13 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 i believe insomniac deserved position 2

mechanicalman Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Why for Warning does it say 'will any man stand up and claim this to be his favourite Green Day album'? Are they calling me a woman?
Drop Dead Hideous Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Why for Warning does it say 'will any man stand up and claim this to be his favourite Green Day album'? Are they calling me a woman? I don't get it. you have female as your gender.....
greekfanGD Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 You can't make a list.... is not my list
ltrbmb17 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Why do they think Dookie is the best and Warning is the worst? it is very subjective rank. Rubbish. 8)
StuckWithRob Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Placing Insomniac 2nd = massive respect for NME As for the list I would only swap Nimrod with Kerplunk! Warning, 1,039 and 21stCB aren't really that good compared to the others
GeekStinkMe Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 is not my list I did not think you made it, I jst wanted to say that I don#t think anyone can list them up like this bevcause they are very different.
Brigister Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 21stCB is so not better than Warning, come on. I mean, COME ON.
Satan Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 wow this is nothing like mine. 8. 1039/sosh 7. insomniac 6. warning 5. dookie 4. nimrod 3. kerplunk 2. american idit 1. 21st century breakdown .//// crazy, mega unpopular opinion of biblical proportions
Forever Now Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 IMO 1039/SOSH is better than Kerplunk and Warning.

If I wanted to be polite, I'd say the writer and I have a significant difference of opinion when it comes to the quality of Green Day's music. But I don't feel like being polite right now, so instead I'll say this: Ain't it great to see what happens when one drinks for twelve hours straight and then tries to write a record review?
The Grohl Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Whoever wrote that list didn't seem to like any of their records. There was a negative or snide remark for every one of them and most of them didn't even make sense.
E!!i Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I'm gonna write what I wrote in the Random News thread as well: I think it's the opinion of the guy who rated it but imo I would have rated the albums like this: 8 ) Warning 7) Kerplunk 6) 21st Century Breakdown 5) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours 4) Dookie 3) Insomniac 2) Nimrod 1) American Idiot but I'm not so sure about the 5-8 and they wrote 39/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Tre Cool

Dampened only by heavy negativity in the songwriting a'la Insomniac and overproduced vocals.) 1) American Idiot ('Nuff said.)
dersulbob Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I can agree on No.1... that is all. 8 ) 21st Century Breakdown 7) Insomniac 6) 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours 5) Nimrod 4) Kerplunk! 3) Warning 2) American Idiot 1) Dookie But that's just me

Lol he's gonna need some aloe vera, cause he just got burned! Now keep in mind for my list, I think every album is stellar, and I love them each in its own way so it's really hard to pick favorites so it's an attempt at a list. Least favorite first -1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours -Insomniac -Warning -Nimrod -21st Century Breakdown -Dookie -American Idiot -Kerplunk

ScatteredPictures Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 8. 1039/sosh 7. insomniac 6. warning 5. dookie 4. nimrod 3. kerplunk 2. american idit 1. 21st century breakdown I love you
Harry Potter. Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 1. They spelt Billie Joe as 'Billy Joe' 2. They didn't say Warning is a great album 3. They called 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours '39/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours' and had the cover for 39/Smooth 4. They called Kerplunk! just 'Kerplunk' 5. These question marks all over the place drive me mad I didn't really like this article. Here would be my list: 1. 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours 1. Kerplunk! 1. Dookie 1. Insomniac 1. Nimrod 1. Warning 1. American Idiot 1. 21st Century Breakdown No, honestly, THIS would be my list: 8. 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours 7. Dookie (lol, sorry, still an awesome album ) 6. Warning 5. Insomniac 4. Kerplunk! 3. Nimrod 3. 21st Century Breakdown << Can't decide between those two 1. American Idiot << My favourite album of all time!!!
Gwen Stacy Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 you love Kerplunk the most? Yep. Although it was extremely difficult to choose between the top three. But I think it has more range than Dookie, I can relate to the songs more, and are 12 perfect songs that encapsulate Green Day for me. I had to get the vinyl version and edit it on iTunes because I hate when the Sweet Children EP it tacked on the end. But that's just my opinion.
Raven93 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 My list : 1 - Dookie 2 - 21st Century Breakdown 3 - American Idiot 4 - Nimrod 5 - Insomniac 6 - Kerplunk 7 - 39 Smooth 8 - Warning And just for the sake of it - favourite song in order of listed albums 1.) Basket Case 2.) 21st Century Breakdown 3.) American Idiot 4.) Hitchin' a Ride 5.) Walking Contradiction 6.) 2000 Light Years Away 7.) Paper Latterns 8.) Minority
DecanoLP Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Finally a magazine that doesn't list 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot as their best albums. Much respect for putting Insomniac as #2. Interesting list overall. I have a totally different one, but everyone is allowed to have his own opinion, right?
