Hizz10n Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I want a tattoo that really means something, so I was thinking song lyrics. But how to choose?? Which line do you love so much you'd be willing to wear it on your body forever?
Lindsay Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 We can't really tell you what you should get tattooed on your body; tattoos are a personal decision/relation. Everyone relates to a song/lyric in a different way. For me though, I love the lyric "you taught me how to live", it's probably the only one I would ever consider getting tattooed on my body. My recommendation to you is to just take some time and think about what's meaningful to you; don't get a tattoo just for the sake of getting a tattoo. Have it mean something.
Silent Duck Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You could get "It's Fuck Time" above your private parts!
Annie, get your gun Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I'd like the one "Your illusion ain't a lie, it's a crime" from Sally by the Foxies

I'm not gonna get just anything, I just thought it would be fun to hear what others would choose. I'm sure there will be a lot of different answers:)
insomniax Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Give Me Novacaine: "Jimmy says it's better than here" probably in one way or another combined with the St. Jimmy symbol. But before I read the lyrics to the song I always thought it was "better than air".. so might go with that instead.
WestboundSign! Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I actually want this line from Having A Blast tattooed when I'm about 20 years old: "And think about the times you spent and what they've meant."
Comic Sans Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 We are the class of '13 (21st Century Breakdown) Do you have the time to listen to me whine? (Basket Case) One light, one mind, flashing in the dark (Minority) You are your own worst enemy... Know your enemy. (Restless Heart Syndrome) Today is the first day of the rest of our lives (Church On Sunday) The representative from [your town] has the floor (Holiday) Well, the world is a sick machine, breeding a mass of shit. (Panic Song) Anyone from Walking Contradiction (better if the whole song ) Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road (Good Riddance) Choose one.
Sweet Armataged Chump Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Dickhead, Fuckface, cock-smoking, mother-fucking, asshole, dirty twat, waste of semen, I hope you die
ghesboro Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "The world owes me so fuck you" or "I'm a smart ass but I'm playing dumb". But these are my favorite GD lyrics, you have to find yours on your own. Remember that the line you choose will be on your skin forever, you have to really feel it. Dickhead, Fuckface, cock-smoking, mother-fucking, asshole, dirty twat, waste of semen, I hope you die Sounds legit.
Beathe. Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I have Rage & Love on my wrist. But if should chose a whole line it would probably be I beg to dream and differ or better thank your lucky stars.
ComaWhite Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You could get "It's Fuck Time" above your private parts! haha nice idea I have "Time of my life" on my back. Other lines I thought of: Do you know what´s worth fighting for? Or a part of BOBD.....
Trotsky Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "It's not over 'til you're underground." Probably with Letterbomb inspired art.
solongfromthestars Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "You found a home in all your scars and ammunition" from Viva La Gloria!. An amazing line that means a lot to me and represents the parts of Green Day that changed my life. I designed a tattoo for both wrists with that line and the skulls from the 21CB artwork although I think that design had that line on one wrist and "don't put away your burning light" on the other.
Nemo. Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 from JOS: to live and not to breathe is to die in tragedy. from Are We the Waiting: the rage and love, the story of my life from Church on sunday: Tears down your face leaving traces of my mistakes
parkwayjuli Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "No one ever said that life is fair " from Jackass. One of fave. lines
Velocity Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "For what it's worth, it was worth all the while" from Good Riddance. I don't care how cliche it is, I want it.
Cheap Escape Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 If I got a tattoo of a Green Day lyric, it would have to be: "'Everyone's heart doesn't beat the same."
Florence Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 You could get "It's Fuck Time" above your private parts! Any line from "Last Ride In". Brilliant songwriting, that was. And "Rage and Love" because I've been living in a rage state all my life. It's a state of "father's rage and mother's love"- vice versa. the "Rage & Love" tattoo has become too mainstream! 8)

That sounds like a lovely tattoo. What I've always wanted for myself is more than just one line. It's the bit from Homecoming/The Death of St. Jimmy that goes "What the hell's your name? What's Your pleassure and what is your pain? Do you dream too much? Do you think what you need is crutch?" A bit of a mouth full I know, but it'd look pretty on one of my shoulder blades or my side. That or some line from Give Me Novacaine, as that was the song that got me into Green Day. But it's a very personal choice and Green Day has many great lyrics for tattoos.

That's one of my favorite Green Day lyrics, I would get that too.
Robin105 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 "There's nothing wrong with me, this is how I'm supposed to be" I love that line. And not really a lyric but I would like, Green Day: Awesome as fuck, ya know. Just to show how awesome they are.
icyfire34 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I know it has, but i guess its green day in two words
