TeamTonyVincent Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Hey everyone! The incredibly talented, dark & delicious Tony Vincent (TonyVincent.com) (the original "St. Jimmy" on Broadway) (remember him?) is now a contestant on Season 2 of The Voice which begins on NBC this Sunday (Feb 5) after the Super Bowl! We're in for a real treat! Tune in to see how he did in his blind audition AND give him your support as he competes for the ultimate artist prize & dream. I'd appreciate it if you'd follow him on Twitter / Facebook & help spread his name around the web, to friends, family & fans, and ask them to do the same. If any one has any good ideas for getting his name out there on the web, i'd love to hear them. Let's help make Tony's dream come true--it's SO long over due. Check out this preview of the show which airs this weekend! http://youtu.be/TMUBrjC2JNg Many thanks --Ingrid TeamTonyVincent.com
Jet Taman Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 That's awesome. I'll definitely tune in to watch it for him. I got to see him in NYC during the American Idiot Broadway show before Billie stepped in and I really liked his rendition of St. Jimmy. I wish the best of luck to him and I hope all his personal reasons for stepping out of AI are all worked out now.
lizziebix Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I've never seen the show before, but I am interested in seeing how Tony does. He was awesome as St Jimmy and in Rent. Fingers crossed for his success.
mmmcrazypills Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Is that him on the poster? He looks like Lord Voldemort.
TeamTonyVincent Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 Is that him on the poster? He looks like Lord Voldemort. lol that IS him yes, and you're not the first to say that. there is a spooky comparison pic of him and voldermort on tony's FB "wall" http://www.facebook.com/tonyvincentofficial. Thanks everyone for your positive support. know that he appreciates it. please spread the word to other GD fans and friends, won't you? Ingrid x
Guest Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I watched The Voice last season (Dia was robbed) and I'm looking forward to it on Sunday. The musical does nothing for me, but I liked what I saw of Tony in it, so this should be good.
BJA TC MD Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Hopefully I can watch this. It'll be awesome
TeamTonyVincent Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 thanks guys! you're the best! fingers crossed he does well in this. if he makes it to the voting stage, please give him yours! for those outside the UK, i'll be putting as much as I can of Tony's performances in the show on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/user/TeamTonyVincent Ingrid
Guest Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Tony was shown in the preview for next weeks episode of The Voice singing "We are the Champions".
Ashley! Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Is that him on the poster? He looks like Lord Voldemort. Oh my gosh he really does!
mallorymaloney Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I'm excited about this, and I'm excited for Tony, but at the same time, I can't help but think that he is so beyond all this reality show contestant crap ... In my opinion, his level of talent well surpasses this sort of thing!
Heather. Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I'm excited about this, and I'm excited for Tony, but at the same time, I can't help but think that he is so beyond all this reality show contestant crap ... In my opinion, his level of talent well surpasses this sort of thing! I watched (more like, skimmed) the first episode online (he's in it very very briefly) and it's important to realize that he's not among amateurs---though he probably is one of the more prestigious guys on there. I remember one of them had been a backup singer for Alicia Keys. Another was on the Mickey Mouse club with Christina Aguilera (she's one of the judges, and she didn't remember him). The whole point of The Voice is that they all (or many of them) have some professional singing experience. Tony is probably one of the best, though.
lizziebix Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 The last of the blind auditions is this Monday. Since Tony hasn't been on yet, I'm assuming that will his night. Hopefully he's not the last one on with no room for the judge's to add him to their roster.
lizziebix Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Finally, he's on right now! Singing Queen!
MrsBillieJoe95 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 My mom was watching the show in her room and I walked in just before he came on I walked in and asked "has tony vincent been on yet?" and she was like "which one is that?". I told her "the one that was in American Idiot" and she's like "he was just on there" but then after the commercial was over, tony came on I was a happy camper! was slightly disappointed that he didn't sing Green Day lol. I'm glad he made it though
Guest Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Congrats to Tony! He's on Team CeeLo. http://www.nbc.com/t...s/tony-vincent/
whatserbmae Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The video is up on YT now. Great performance! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1Gi7isa_Ko
kelly42fox Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Just watched his audition for The Voice... Dude... I loved some of the freedoms he took and the feriousity he showed in the song. I didn't see the much power in St. Jimmy... He coulda used some of that in 'Know Your Enemy'! I wish him the best! Hopefully he'll make it far, and this will open tons of doors for him!
Guest Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Here's Tony's audition with the judges comments as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sva0JcPQb2E
Jaymee!! Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Oh my God he did so well. I'm just wondering...how long do you think it'll take the judges to discover that he's worked and recorded with Green Day. Do you guys think that would hinder his success on the show? Would the others slap themselves over not choosing him?
mmmcrazypills Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Oh my God he did so well. Would the others slap themselves over not choosing him? If I were the other judges, I wouldn't. There are a lot of meh famous people, they just went with their guts on who they could prop up the most regardless of previous status. It may hinder his success, but it shouldn't.
Jaymee!! Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 At the time when CeeLo chose him, they didn't know anything about his background though right? I saw the full ep a little bit ago and saw that they explained his background...so the viewing audience now knows. I dunno...I just feel like if I were them, I'd see his talent as something already mastered, and not needing coaching. Also, I'm going to move this over to Green Day chat. Tony deserves more recognition from the forum I think!
