Hello so Im planning on taking a pure Green Day filled day trip to Oakland to check out some Green Day landmarks I have some places in mind like Gilman, Tight Wad Hill, Rudys, Christie Road but I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions where to go or perhaps addresses of some cool Green Day places?

Thanks :)

I would love to do that some day. Isn't there a place called Longview?

yeah it's a city...but it gives more then just one Longview, idk which Billie meant in the song, but i think he meant the one in washington...or the one in cali...idk

i'd love to do that somewhen too...Gilman is def the best "green day related" place...well, next to Rudy's of course

...maybe you could go to the corner of Stuart and the Ave ;D (i think the whole names of those streets are stuart avenue and telegraph avenue...if i don't mix anything up)

...or you could go to Billie's house...his address is on the internet...if he still lives there, i've heard some rumors that he moved (i just wouldn't ring at his house, cos i don't think he'd like it if everyone did that ;) )

Yeah Longview is a town in Washington that they had played in/passed through several times. Another popular one is to be "standing on the corner of Stuart and the Avenue", which is the intersection from Stuart (not sure if its a road, street, avenue...) and Telegraph Avenue. There's also Fiat Records (where Billie recorded Look For Love, aged 5. There's the 7/11 from the JoS video.

It was named after the city Longview, Washington because they debuted the song there.

From Billie Joe's twitter

"Our friend/roadie Kaz Hope, suggested we call our song Longview because the 1st time we played was in Longview Washington in spring 1992"

Also, Billie Joe has moved from the address that is on the internet. He lives in a different area now. Not saying where, but it is a nice house and on a quiet street.

There is the Ashby house you can drive by too and Fantasy Studios where they recorded Dookie.

you could go visit Pinole Valley High School, the birthplace of Jesus of Suburbia :D or if you want to get serious you can go to the Pasalacqua retirement home :)

The Green Day Reference Locations thread has links to both a map and a driving tour in its first post.

Okay thanks alot guys! But yeah im flying out for just the day so i dont really have much of a way to get around on my own which is sorta a bummer :/ but i suppose ill find a way with BART and the bus.

Also for anyone considering Longview, Wa.... I live in washington and ive driven through it quite a few times and ill tell you theres nothing cool to see, its not really a big town nor a really small town its just really average and uninteresting lol

but thanks again for the ideas I really like the 7/11 one gotta love JOS ;)
