raven052 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 So, Green Day have been featured in Kerrang's latest special edition issuse: 666 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It's got loads of stuff in it, and it's (very cleverly) £6.66 Anyway, here's Green Day's bit
Undómiel Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 How come American Idiot wasn't listed as one of the actual 666 albums? Shocking!
DoodleBob Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks for posting! Yeah, it's weird how they picked Dookie instead of American Idiot. Oh well, they both are amazing albums.
Annie, get your gun Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks for posting it! How come American Idiot wasn't listed as one of the actual 666 albums? Shocking! Yeah, that's weird. They should have added it to the list as well...
raven052 Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 No problems, guys. Hmm, dunno, maybe because Dookie was the first of theirs to make a huge impact. C'mon now, it's Kerrang, they've gotta do something confusing!
BringMoreKnives Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 How come American Idiot wasn't listed as one of the actual 666 albums? Shocking! I concur. ...Awesome that Dookie is in there though. One of my favorites <3
Undómiel Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I concur. ...Awesome that Dookie is in there though. One of my favorites <3 Insomniac's better
-Billiejoezee- Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Insomniac's better I agree. But then dookie has pulling teeth.
Undómiel Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I agree. But then dookie has pulling teeth. Which is a fabulous song. I had that stuck in my head for about a week once...
gd86arg Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 How come American Idiot wasn't listed as one of the actual 666 albums? Shocking! the shadow of dookieee
DoodleBob Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I agree. But then dookie has pulling teeth. Pulling Teeth was my favorite Dookie song forever. (That is until I listened to She. ) the shadow of dookieee Dookie will forever be the Green Day album that is compared with all of their other albums. Is this out now? Yep! Here's the link for it! http://www.greatmaga...d=5138&id=48679
Disapperingirl Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Wow thanks for posting, I'm always glad to see Green Day mentioned as an important brick of history of music "Here it isn't a question of how many chords the group plays, but rather how these chords are placed togheter; which is to say, magnificently". That's so true, I which a lot of people understood that
Hermione Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Thanks for this! Nice to see them on the list and that's a great review of the album. Nice choice of photo too I see they're still pretending they gave 21st Century Breakdown 4 'K's when in fact they gave it 5 when it came out though. Liars
-Billiejoezee- Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Which is a fabulous song. I had that stuck in my head for about a week once... I've had that song stuck in my head for more than 6 years. it's my favorite green day song.
LittleBoyNamedTrain Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for the post! I agree, they should've included American Idiot too! Are these albums ranked? Or have they just given them all a random page each?
JDookie Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 More respect for Insomniac! It shoud be in the "More Green Day Classics" part, too! And I don't agree with the download suggestions (especially for 21st Century Breakdown, plus... Jesus of Suburbia the only suggestion off American Idiot?! Bah!) But it's nice they put Dookie on their list! Thanks for sharing!
Elena Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Warning should be in the list too !!! that album is sooooo underated ...they Ks' are how good they think that the album is, right? ...well, at least American Idiot has as many Ks as Dookie ...though i agree: it should be listed too !! ...but i acually think they just listed one album of each band and they took Dookie cos it was their first successful album (and their first Major Label album)
BJA TC MD Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Can't they have included more than one album? When I read the name of the thread, I thought it was American Idiot mentioned, not Dookie. They should both be here
